There's a difference between being knowledgable and being wise that usually shows when you start talking.

Good try, but wrong according to my source. Try again!

Okay, kmslape and Kathy, I've looked everywhere and have narrowed the search down to Patti Page as the artist who in January 1950 had the #1 song. So, I agree with you kmslape, because she had so many hits, but it was very hard to find THE one that was listed as THAT ONE hit. I found Mockingbird Hill (Horton) by Patti Page went GOLD in 1950 and Tennessee Waltz went to #1 and stayed there for 30 weeks. It is considered to be THE song that changed country music and she was the 1st and only artist to have a #1 pop, R&B, & country crossover. Tennessee Waltz was a flip side, filler (side B) and it is the 3rd highest selling single behind Elton John's "Candle in the Wind" and Bing Crosby's "White Christmas". Pretty remarkable. Plus she made "How much is that doggie in the window?", a favorite when I was a child.

Ok, let's call this question over. My source (CMT.com) says that it was Red Foley's "Chattanoogie Shoe Shine Boy".
I'll post a new question on Friday.

Correct Glitterfae!
So that is one point for ShadowCaster, babyquacker (Trish) and glitterfae. It's a tie. That one was answered quick, guess I need to make them a bit harder, just not as hard as last weeks tho!
