I have 4 kids, 3 are grown and the baby just turned 14 in July. There is a 5 year age gap between the last child to leave the house and him. I thought 13 was an age LOL. Now that he is 14 he knows everything about everything !!

Well, that's not the same problem for all 14 yr.olds. What do you feel is your biggest problem? <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Kids and parents always see things differently but it is always good to talk!

Just goes to show how different perspectives are!

I'm sure we felt the same way when we were 14, I just can't seem to dredge up those memories to be ale to relate with my son now! LOL

It was like, when I was doing the Collective Soul article, I figured he would be excited (I would have been at his age), but he was like, "Oh, neat."

What must I do to impress my son?!?!??

When you figure out what to do to impress him it won't impress him anymore!

The title of this thread is a little misleading. From the title, I thought you needed advice with an unruly teenager. Now that I read the thread I think the title really should be "Why do I think it's so important to impress my son?"

I remember being 14. The only thing my mother could have done to impress me would have been to set her hair on fire and run bare breasted down mainstreet while singing "Purple Haze". That doesn't mean that we didn't have a normal healthy relationship. She was MOM. Mom's are supposed to love you and care for you. Impressing you is not in the job description.

Have you tried prying open your third eye?

LOL, you are too funny!

I was just making an observation about my son knowing everything. He was giving my daughter advise about child rearing (our first grandbaby, and she was about a week old then) and last summer he seemed to know more about making pickles than I did! It is just funny how all of the sudden he knows everything!
