There it is! Okay, Jennie's got 2 points.

Next question:

What dietary plan did Da Vinci follow that was particularly odd for the time in which he lived?

And that's two for Trish!

Which French chateau is home to a double-helix style spiral staircase that Da Vinci invented and designed? (I've been there; it's awesome!)

How about the Chateau de Chanbord? It sounds awesome.

I'll take it (it's Chambord, but it looks like a typo, not an actual error). It's really quite magnificent. That's 3 for Trish!

Next question:

What tried-and-true plaster painting technique did Da Vinci tweak and experiment with for his famous work "The Last Supper"? (Note: his experiments failed miserably and The Last Supper has been crumbling ever since.)

Many people call The Last Supper a fresco, which was tempera on wet plaster but according to Lisa Shea's website on DaVinci, he wanted to make his colors more vibrant and add his own flair. <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

He used tempera plus oil painting on DRY plaster, which is why it has been crumbling ever since, so it truly is not "fresco" but fresco"like". And this is why Lisa says, "you can't believe everything you read on the web. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />"

Da Vinci himself called it a fresco, even though he experimented with the technique. I'd have to disagree with Lisa when she says that Dan Brown was a big fat liar (okay, she said it nicer than that) when he called it a fresco in The Da Vinci Code.... many scholars simply refer to it as a fresco. I think probably just because it's easier to say than "A modified plaster-painting technique incorporating tempera and oils on a sheet of dried plaster".

Okay, Trish is at FOUR!!

Next (maybe last?) question:

In which Amboise chapel is Da Vinci buried?

Not much chance of winning, but maybe I can make it last a little longer, lol

That's the one! Okay, a rundown of points: Trish has 4, Jennie has 3, Kay has 1.... it's still anyone's game!
