I keep bugging my husband to take some fish pictures, and he says he will, but his plate is so full that I feel like I am starting to nag.

let's get some of Sara's tankmates up, eh? A change from bettas? Did you get my message about trading in the lone tetra for a platy? tetras cannot be kept alone, they will pine away and it's not fair. Fishshops will usually trade you fish, esp if the next fish you buy is a couple bucks more!

Oh, and it looks like the teal couple emay be winning this month!

Yeah...we know about the tetra...we did have two of them...they kept spawning in the corner of the tank, the male was relentless about it too ! Just wouldn't stop pestering the Mrs ! He finally coudn't take it anymore. (or, more likely, the female couldn't and she had a hand in his demise. Since there were no actual witnesses, who can say cause the fish ain't talkin) I found him salted to perfection in the box of aquarium salt. We do have a cover on that tank but there is one spot where the filter sits that is open, not much but apparently enough....he (or the Mrs.) aimed right for it !!

I had asked at some of the fish stores I go to about trading fish and they won't, they are worried about transfering diseases. Her tank is already full to capacity..so..poor tetra has to swim it alone.. Unless I can wiesel one of them into changing thier minds.

I have tried taking pictures of Sara's fish but they move around so much that they all come in too blurry. I'll keep trying and if I get a decent one or two I'll post them.

Neat about the Teals ! Too bad it didn't work out with them...maybe next time.

Jilly,

What do you think of my blue marble guy? He finally got posted. I still have him in a bowl with bettafix. He's doing pretty good and loves those fruitflies, but...for some odd reason doesn't seem to care for that yucki..er..yummy bloodworm gel stuff (can't figure that out  )

I was wondering wiether (weither?) oO( "i" before except after "c" ?) or not I have to keep him going with the bettafix for the full 7 days as he doesn't have any signs of fungus or illness. He was just looking a bit droopy when I got him...hanging around the bottom of the tank. I am sure he would much prefer having the full use of his tank. Gee, I really like this guy! Can't name him yet as it's hard to pin a personality on him in that bowl. Have to wait till he gets to swim around some more.

Don't worry about bettafix if he never had ich or a fungus or anything. And he's astoundingly beautiful! I voted a ten - and it seems everyone else did too...he's on the top of the list!!!! Great find. How did you do it???

There is an aquarium store nearby that gets the neatest bettas. I don't know where they get them from but lots of crowntails and colors that I don't see at the average Walmart,PetCo or PetSmart. And to think...I didn't even pick him up the first time I saw him...he was still there the week after so I took him home. Can't imagine why no one took him home before I did...except that maybe he was supposed to be mine.

I went back to PetCo and picked up that white female for him this morning. She looks just like a princess!! Pearly actually and very shiny with the hint of teal in her fins when the light hits her right....not just teal, but lots of other colors which only show when the light is right. Sort of like an opal!! That would be a good name for her !

Jilly,

I just posted another picture of my piebald. It came out so incredible I just had to share it! I used natural sunlight instead of the flash and this one shows his true colors, unlike the last picture I posted of him.

He is SOOOO much my favorite fish!! (though I do love them all )

Well, the pic of "Jax" my blue marble is up. A friend just gave me a 10 gallon aquarium..guess what I am going to do with that!
First...have to do some serious stocking up on jars! I managed to get about 5 bowls from walmart...I saw they had a stack of dead betta sitting on the sink by the tanks...of which I found one more on the shelf. So, I asked the guy there if I could have the bowls...he gave me a weird look but he rinsed them out and handed them over, covers and all!..haha..this is too much fun! (except for those poor walmart fish! )
