After 8 days of minority riots, this only now gets mentioned on this forum: sad but predictable.

The explanation of this phenomenon from my point of view is as following:
The USA and its affairs matter more to me than France and the French. Although I live in Europe, I prefer American problems, paradoxically the French ones are so distant to me, in consequence boring. I am sorry for that.

Besides, French riots don`t seem to pose any real news or a problem. There have always been riots in their streets, the French people, being typical southerners, are violent and impulsive by nature, when they don`t like something, they are only too willing to express it, even in the street. Students` riots (and not only those in 1968, I remember clashes in 80s and 90s), farmers` riots, minority riots, soccer fans` riots etc.

That is why I didn`t deem it necessary to post anything about it.

PS 1. You are wrong if you suppose that we secretly, with ill intention, try to blow up American riots and sweep the French ones "under the carpet."
We "blow up" American problems because America is so interesting and matters to us so much.
Besides, there are many Americans here in this forum. Isn`t it natural they would like to talk about their own things?

PS 2. I was really amazed while reading your delicate accusation.

The developments are very disturbing and dangerous.
The riots and anarchy is continuing for many days now.
It is a scarry devellopment in a country with 5 million
muslims (5% of the 50 million french).
I fear that the same circumstances are recognisable in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Great-Brittian.

Pieter,

good point. I hope that these riots would not spread to other countries. You know, I was in France in the late 80-es. For me even then France was divided. There was not one but two "France" - one calm and nice provincional and another - big cities. Paris was scary when I took off the metro after being in Provance. There were very few French people who live in Paris, lots of immigrants, especially from North AFrica. I am not sure these two parts adhere well.

Is it true that the police is really afraid to confront people who do all this damage? I did not hear about any injured or dead people on any site. Just curious...

Jerzy, your opinion is probably shared by many Poles. As for me - posting the news about the riots. I did not post it earlier from two simple reasons - first of all - I did not have too much free time during the week, second of all - France is not really Poland (this is Polish forum) and not really easter Europe. For me the hierarchy of news posted here is:
Poland
Eastern Europe
all Europe
the world
something else not related to any politics

So - the news from France are only posted when there are important.

Piwo shocked me with accusation that for some strange reasons I am biased and I post informations about America and against Bush more than about other countries. The truth is - we did not post anything here about very damaging leak investigation to this current american administration, we also did not write anything about the riots in Argentina, so...do not blame me for something which is not truth.

If I post information which is related to America, it is just because I live here - so these informations are naturally important for me personally, but as I said, I did not post anything about the recent developments in the USA, except a low support for president Bush.

Not by me. But I am curious what makes you feel so?

(By the way, I think taht if Piwo thinks this info should have been posted here earlier, I think that it'd have been best if he did so.)

Aah, France. Where is it, btw? I heard it`s somewhere in Europe. Is it true?
Strange.

They represent a dark skin underclass and have attacked white skin C0aucasians even Russians. Similar to hurricane-hit New Orleans in USA.

I just hope that the Americans stay out of France. I am sure that France will not ask for our help.
We have enough problems.
We had a tornado in Indiana this weekend and it wiped out many trailer homes and killed some people. Plus we have New Orleans, and Florida to worry about and pay for.

Piwo, Jerzy, Jaga, et al in the forum; NOW YOU WILL SEE MY UGLY SIDE!

The Statement in History:
"Danzig is not worth one drop of French blood".
The rest is history

The statement today:
Paris is not worth one drop of well-water!

The Question in History:
"Arde Paris?"

The question today:
Arde Paris?

The statement today:
Paris? DILLIGAF!

I think John the Just and Kai know what DILLIGAF stands for and here is a very abbreviated form, I have a few good manners left.
DILLIGAF "Do I Look Like I Give A ...."
