I'm compiling information to create an online gift-giving idea guide for holidays and occasions--according to a person's Sun sign.

Every astrology book I've ever seen has been grossly off the mark with their "recommendations" for certain Sun signs and what they'd like to receive as a gift. (For example, as a Scorpio, it irks me that they almost always recommend sex books, bondage wear, and weapons for my Sign. *insert eyeroll*)

I'm a Libra. For me, small gifts are always best. Something simple like a book, CD, manga, set of chopsticks, stuffed animal or something practical like a new tea kettle, etc. Not sure if this makes me a weird Libra or not though.

I am a Gemini and I appreciate gifts of self. Like a phone call, going to movies/out to dinner, or just hanging out playing a game.

I like metal a lot, but it doesn't need to be gold or silver, I just like the heaviness (which also means that I'm less likely to lose it, as I'm absent minded!). I like anything new-agey - crystals, incense, anything that smells nice. Okay, well a nice bottle of red wouldn't be rejected...

My favourite gifts are books or book vouchers. I love reading, so it is very easy to buy for me. Books, CDs, movies, anything art related, jewellery - especially an "interesting" piece, flowers - especially tulips or roses, bath goodies, perfume or incense or essential oils, something that feels soft and silky - clothing or cushions or bed linen or something for my house... so I've got something for each of the senses there, plus anything mystical or ususual - tarot cards, Tibetan singing bowl... see: easy to buy pressies for me! <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

i'm Pisces as well, and I honestly like just about anything for a gift - just as long as it is a surprise! I'd much rather receive a gift for absolutely no reaon at all, than for a "special occasion" - but I better get a gift on those days, too! <img src="/images/graemlins/devil.gif" alt="" />

Jewelry - it deosn't have to be expensive, just sparkly
Flowers - I love bright, colorful flowers
Stuffed animals - the squishier, the better
Anything romantic - perfume, crystla ornaments, art, soft sweaters, etc.

i'm so not into "practical gifts" - they almost offend me. But my husband is so terribly practical, I have to bite my lip sometimes.

Don't known if this has to do with sun signs, but on the goddess quiz, I did identify with Aphrodite - I guess she influences me quite a bit!!!

Things that show you really put some thought into the gift not bought something as an afterthought or necessity is important to me (Aries).

A friend of mine delights me with the gifts she buys me. She knows I like tropical themes in my home and she bought me a beautiful crystal imbedded fish key hanger. Deer, hunting or country themes would make me puke if I received them as a gift. She also has bought me cute gag gifts based on other things she knows about me (a bottle of cold duck and a duck 'massager' because I raise ducks and can be fanatical about them). My all-time favorites are the ones the kids made for me (lopsided vases, dragon statutue missing a wing, decorated handmade card). The type of gift is irrelevant; it could be anything from a gun to an exotic cookbook and I'd enjoy it as long as the person knew enough about my preferences to select the right style.

My very favorite gifts are those given to me by children, especially if they are handmade.

I'm Pisces and like getting cd's of good music, and also books. Love perfumes and soaps too. Anything that smells nice!

I'm an Aquarius and I like recieving all sorts of gifts! Especially if they're handmade or from a forien country. Jewellery is also always nice to get given, though I only ever wear silver and I collect rings. Flowers are always nice to get, especially if they're for no particular reason or just because I told the person I was feeling down or having a bad day. Books and CDs are nice to get too, but only if the person knows me very well, I'm quite picky about what I read and listen to.

I don't like novelty/joke gifts, I think they're tacky. I also don't like recieving cosmetics, make-up, bath smellies etc. I'm a Vegan so unless they're 100% animal product/testing free I wont use them.
