Hi! Welcome to the forum.
It sounds like you have a wonderful yard; I have always wanted a house that had been previously landscaped but have never been that lucky.
It appears that you live in Region D - South Atlantic Coastal, hardiness zones 7-8; with this climate, you should be able to grow a number of bulbs. Your moist conditions can cause a problem with bulbs perennializing, so you will need to check with a local garden center for the exact cultivars that will thrive and come back each year in your area, but I can give you some general suggestions and you can go from there.
I need a few answers before I can come up with some names: First, how tall do you want the flowers to be?
Second, do you want them to stay in the ground year round or are you willing to dig them up in the fall?
Third, do you need to pre-chill tulips before planting?
Fourth, does your ground freeze?
Once I have these answers,I should be able to find some interesting bulbs that you can try.
