I am horrified at the thought of 16 kids!!!
Why are people so worried about us having kids when there are people like this in the world?!?!?!
She's having enough for all of us!

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Michelle Duggar just delivered her 16th child, and she's already thinking about doing it again.

Johannah Faith Duggar was born at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and weighed 7 pounds, 6.5 ounces.

The baby's father, Jim Bob Duggar, a former state representative, said Wednesday that mother and child were doing well.

He said Johannah's birth was especially exciting because it was the first time in eight years the family has had a girl.

Jim Bob Duggar, 40, said he and Michelle, 39, want more children.

"We both just love children and we consider each a blessing from the Lord. I have asked Michelle if she wants more and she said yes, if the Lord wants to give us some she will accept them," he said.

The Discovery Health Channel filmed Johannah's birth and plans to air a show about the family of 18 next May.

The Learning Channel is doing another show about the family's construction project, a 7,000-square foot house that should be finished before Christmas. The home, which the family has been building for two years, will have nine bathrooms, dormitory-style bedrooms for the girls and boys, a commercial kitchen, four washing machines and four dryers.

Jim Bob Duggar, who sells real estate, previously lost his bid for the U.S. Senate. He said he expects to run for the state Senate next year but isn't ready to make a formal announcement.

Michelle Duggar had her first child at age 21, four years after the couple married.

Their children include two sets of twins, and each child has a name beginning with the letter "J": Joshua, 17; John David, 15; Janna, 15; Jill, 14; Jessa, 12; Jinger, 11; Joseph, 10; Josiah, 9; Joy-Anna, 8; Jeremiah, 6; Jedidiah, 6; Jason, 5; James, 4; Justin, 2; and Jackson Levi, 1.

OMG I know!!! I just saw this online while taking a break from work. How insane is that!? At least it does seem like they make enough money to support all of these kids financially. How the heck do you even logistically feed, clothe and supervise all of these little munchkins all day? I imagine that older siblings do a lot of that. Bummer for them. But yikes- this is worse than "Nightmare on Elm Street" to me...My worst nightmare would be to wake up in that house! Great for Halloween!!!

This story absolutly sickens me! Why would they have so many children when there are WAY MORE that need homes!
It's disgusting, and seems like a publicity stunt if you ask me ("how can we get people to notice us? I KNOW, Lets pollute the world with a shitload of kids!!!")
I bet she looks like hell.

Sounds to me like these people have some sort of hoarding syndrome. It figures they get all kinds of positive press and attention. And the father needs even more attention by running for office. This family needs mental help.

And another thing I just realized. That woman has spent about 12 years of her life being pregnant. Wow! I don't even want to spend one day of my life being pregnant.

I can certainly understand how mind-boggling this is, but if you haven't seen the earlier TV show (I believe it's called "14 Kids and One on the Way"), I'd recommend watching it before making any judgments about this family.
When I first started watching the show, I remember thinking "these folks must be crazy." I'm an only child, and am childless by choice, but my hat is off to this family!

Their kids are smart, well-adjusted, well-behaved, happy kids, and the family interaction is heartwarming! They are financially sound (on one income), pay cash for everything, and have worked together building their new larger home.

It's a very uplifting story, and I highly recommend it.

Well folks, we can only hope old Bob Duggar loses his bid AGAIN for the political seat. We have enough brain dead politicians running this country let alone one with 16 kids. What nauseating story.

I saw this family on TV a few months ago too. I was ashamed at myself that I let the TV media suck me into watching the sensationalizing of so many children. yeah, they do manage to care for their kids, but why do the parents feel the need to have so many?

Unbelievable. I too do not understand why people would want this many children! Could you imagine going grocery shopping? Or what about a family outing? It would look more like a school field trip! How do they even all commute at the same time? Either they've bought a bus or they take two or three vans with them at all times. The parents are weird for already thinking about their next child.
