Hi Happy CF Guy
If I was a guy and was 100% sure of my decision, I'd get the snip for sure and that way, the woman has to love you for you without the possibility of having children. I'd be up front about it when meeting a potential partner from the very start and it'd be a very quick way to weed through the ones that aren't the ones for you. Go the vas man!!! Plus if you do change your mind, it can be reversed.

I do want to get snipped, but I'm just worried about the intense bias by the doctors against the single and the young when it comes to vasectomies. I wouldn't be surprised if the first one, and maybe the second and third, I contact will refuse. Then again, I could get lucky.

To me, vasectomy reversals and sperm banking are not 100% guaranteed, meaning that I pretty much don't consider them options. And therefore, I know for sure that getting snipped is permanent.

Even if I do change my mind, there's always adoption, or spending just part of my time with children (which I probably like better if I want to do something with kids).

I ALWAYS think about the economic aspects of raising kids. I think love is a great thing, but you still have to think of the consequences. I've seen people have problems because they don't think as a result of being blinded by love too much.

Ah, to meet a guy already snipped...the thought of a tubal was frightening to me, so I always hoped the ex would really insist on him being vasectomized instead, even if I did keep saying I'd rather that I get the tubal in case we split up and he got with a woman who wanted kids and changed his mind (and of course, now that we HAVE split up, I'm vindictive enough to think "man, if our relationship had gotten that far, damn straight I'd want the jerk to be sterile, ha!" I'm a terrible person, I know. I don't care. He deserves it).

I'm not big on pain, plus I always have this irrational fear that if I have to have surgery some day, I'll wake up in the middle of it!

That's one thing I'm glad I don't have to worry about anymore.

How are you all going now. Still in the same boat. Do you have any good news Llamadrama and Francesca. I'm in the same situation but just trying to enjoy each day as it comes. I hope you guys are going well. I have been thinking about these threads recently and thought I'd best log on to see how you're all getting on. Hope you are happy and well.
Best wishes
Dugong
