I'm only 27 and I've lost the urge. I love my fiance very much. We used to do it all the time. I've lost that passion. Once in a while we would do drugs together. And these were the best experiences. But we don't do these things anymore because that was just a phase and we were younger. Now we are career orientd and such. But I just want to do drugs again just so I can have great sex again. I am also on zoloft and I know that can have an effect on it too. There are so many ads on the net for women's sexual enhancers. They are expensive and the one I've tried didn't even work. Can anyone help me?

Have you talked to your doctor? That should be your first stop. It could be the Zoloft, it could be wacky hormones, or any number of things. A different antidepressant, or some hormone therapy, might work wonders.

SSRI's are notorious for their sexual side effects, so I'd bet on the Zoloft. Ask your doctor about switching & don't stop it without doing it like they tell you--my boyfriend had to go to ER when he quit one of those suddenly, and he ended up off work & on Xanax for a week while he tapered off before he could start another one. He just didn't know about the weird withdrawal. (Guys never read the drug inserts!)
Doctors know about the side effects, but it's just that it's different for everyone, so they never know if you'll have specific side effects until you try.

Indeed. And every drug works differently. My ex lost his drive and couldn't sleep on Prozac, a switch to Zoloft helped. I read once about someone else who had the same problems on Zoloft and switched to Prozac and was fine. Unfortunately you have to keep trying them until you find one that works.

First it is so sad that in todays world almost everyone is on some type of drug. Just wondering if it is the pharmacueticals fault as this is more than a 500% profit.
Second since you are so young normally you should not have this unless soemthing is going on in your life. Depression etc. Zoloft is my guess for your delema. I would go and talk to your doctor and have him advise you. Don't try to buy drugs on the internet or over the counter as they are not safe. Good luck to you.

I suffer from depression and was on Zoloft for a while. I didn't like it much, because it seemed to dull everything, I wasn't as depressed, but i didn't have much interest in anything (including sex).
I'm now on Effexor and like it much better, but it did take A LOT of playing around with the dosages to get it just right. It took about six months overall to figure out where I needed to be at.
So definitely talk to your doc about the Zoloft, Effexor might not be the right one for you, but it sure sounds like Zoloft isn't.

I also had same problem in past when one of my friends suggested me to take ED Drugs. I started using Generic cialis to avoid this problem.Truly a miracle drug! Definitely works! Side effects aren't that bad for me.Since I have been taking generic cialis however, I find that I no longer have the anxiety over losing my erection at any moment and the urgency is not the focus and I can once again relax and concentrate on my partner's pleasure.
Thanks, Stev ED Generic Drugs: Authentic Generic Drugs like Generic Viagra Generic Cialis

Have you gained a lot of weight lately? When I gained a lot of weight in a short period of time, my sex drive plummeted, and it wasn't a self-esteem issue. It's because fat cells release estrogen in women and too much estrogen hurts the sex drive. A lot of times the low sex drive side effect of anti-depressants actually is related to the weight gain that the ADs cause, not the ADs themselves.
The thing they never tell you in low-carb diet books is that if you put your body into mild ketosis (burning fat for energy instead of carbohydrates), your fat cells don't release estrogen the same way and your sex drive goes way up very quickly. Try going for a week without eating any white foods (white bread, white pasta, potatoes, sugary snacks) and only eating fruit during your first two meals of the day. See what happens. It's worth a try!

Ok, my boyfriend of 4 months...his lack of sex drive is driving ME crazy!!!! He has recently been diagnosed as bipolar2 and hypermania. His meds are Depakote and nothing else. Will taking Cialis or Viagra help this situation as I am REALLY having a hard time of no intimacy, however I love the fact that we are getting to know eachother without having a relationship based JUST on sex....Also, I find that he is having a hard time with the fact that I am a VERY passionate, physical woman. I need help.... <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Either one of those could help, but he would need to see his Dr to make sure which would work best and not interract badly with the meds he's already on.
Also, when it comes to antidepressants, sometimes it can take up to a month to get stable in the system. So if he hasn't yet been on the meds a month, I would suggest waiting and seeing if maybe his libido comes back then; before adding more drugs to the system.
