I really enjoy cooking but i don't have much time to be messing around with it alot, so I think that makes our goals very similar. I like to eat salads sometimes but mostly like hot foods. That being said the best thing you could get is a George Forman grill small one if its just you and start using it. I buy boneless skinless chicken breasts, sprinkle with whatever I like such as cajun seasoning, Ranch dressing powder, leamon pepper, lime juice etc... and toss on grill its done in less than 5 mins and if you think about it when you pull the one off put another on while you start eating then put it in the fridge for a later meal, just pop in the micro. You can do burger patties easily, thinner salmon fillets , but I personally don't like steaks on it. I toss some frozen spinach or brussel sprouts in a skillet with a few Tbsp butter when I put the meat on and its all done at the same time.
