ok, I shot off my email to Kkinny. Every body else should too. If we bombard them, maybe they'll ask Lisa on the show.

I just thought of something. If the CYCA and the CGOA and that brittish organization's contest is "scientific methodology" and the Guiness contest is "apples and oranges", then the Guiness contest should have been a breeze for Lily, right? So, would she have us believe that, just this once, the CGOA changed their method/standard for the crochet contest because Lisa was there? I say, pair them up again, this time using these famous "scientific methods", and lets see who's the fastest. whadda ya say, Ms. Chin?? I know if I was Ms. Gentry, I'd be chomping at the bit to get another chance at her. (How many times do ya have to whoop somebody before it's an official butt-kickin?)
oh boy, that hat for her head needs to be collosal in size. better use some of that new LB "Big" yarn, and a hook the size of a rolling pin.

She'd have to crochet her hat out of 3 inch telephone cable, and the hook would have to be the size of a telephone pole.

The reason she doesnt want to let go of her "fastest" crocheter title is because she doesnt want to let go of all the money and book deals (and public appearances) she gets from being the "fastest"... It's all about the money.

I think you've come VERY close to hitting the nail on the head, Erin. I think its the money, plus the "prestige". She must feed her ego as well as her pocket book.

Yep, you got that right Erin, but she may not be losing money right now but from what everyone is saying , they are not happy with her and you know how we can just stop buying anything to do with her, and eventually they (yarn co.) will boot her out. Hey maybe she is one of those weirdo people that think if they say it enough it will be true??? Ok here I go again......I"M THE QUEEN OF SOMETHING AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CLEAN THE HOUSE OR DO DISHES (I am also putting on my red shoes and clicking my heels together so far no results) !!!!!!!!!!!

I think if I was Lisa, I'd talk to an attorney and possibly pursue litigation against Ms. Chin and the CGOA, i mean, in a way, that's "sorta-kinda" like a copyright infringement, yeah? and now!!! I am proclaiming myself, "Worlds Fastest Runner"....why? because I beat everybody in the neighborhood, so that counts...right??? lets see, what else...oh yeah! I can type about 85 wpm with 1 error (when I practice, but that doesnt count right?), my dad always called me "lead foot" 'cause I drove so fast...wonder if NASCAR needs a new token female driver, i could tell them that i'm worlds fastest driver, and you guys would back me up right? <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

You make a good point, Now you notice that no one has "threatened" me about my article (you know saying they will sue for slander) and not that I want someone to threaten me but 99.9% of the time, if I was wrong, I either get an email or the owner of Bellaonline does and to date that has not happened. If I were Lisa, I would do just that because I don't care how many RULES they come up with, Lily got the CRAFT beat out of her by Lisa and now she is being a poor sport.

I just bought the new issue of Crochet Fantasy... The person who writes the editorial on the first page of the magazine mentioned that she'd been to the CGOA Chain link conference (think that's the same one that Lisa and Lily were both at) and she mentions that Lily was there...and then goes on to say "it was interesting to note Lily had competition this time..."

Never once does she mention Lisa's name...geeze...it's like they dont want to know that Lily got her butt beat...they're acknowledging that there's competition for Lily, but they dont seem to want anyone to know who Lisa is, and that she's the legitimate fastest crocheter in the world.

I think they (the CGOA) is missing out on a nice opportunity to further the craft of crochet...they could do something like team up Lisa and Lily in pattern books, or put them both on Letterman...or anything to try to get more people interested in crochet...if they'd only open their eyes and realize all the possibilites they're ignoring by not acknowledging Lisa's accomplishment.

Lily had competition??? oh pUHleeeze! I'd send them an email too, but I didnt buy that one yet. I will though. Geez, it's like somebody is sleeping with somebody, more probably somebody's wallet is getting lined, because their refusal to acknowledge Lisa is beyond reasonable understanding, it just does not make sense, most especially since we've all been raising so much heck recently, and the emails they've gotten. so, its not like they don't know how we feel. you know, i'd like to think that our beloved crochet is free from money-hungry-bureaucratic-bs-hoolabaloo, but i guess not. and this whole issue leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. I don't understand, do they not think that Lisa could generate as much publicity as Lily?? C.G.O.A = "Completely Goofy Organization of America" Shame on them, Lily, and any of the others who are participating in the continued perpetration of this lie, that is that Lily is stil the fastest.
Lisa, seriously, get a lawyer. and you know how they work, if they feel you have a case, they won't even charge you, till then end. and of course they'll take most of the money you win, but its not about the money, its about recognition that's rightfully yours. lily is claiming a title, with much help, that no longer belongs to her. get a lawyer, i would.

Glad you are all in agreement...and I think you're all right that the fame and fortune have gone to her brunette little (big ???) head...you can see the look on her smug face when she's on the shows and in magazines...still not impressive in my book...as for her "title" of world's fastest...I think that the CGOA, etc. and Guinness should all get their acts together and come up with one rule for this contest and finally get the winner right (how many times do they have to compete is right...)...I'm still on Lisa's side...and I love that she still sells on ebay! Someone very wise always told me "don't ever forget where you came from" and I think that's how you "keep it real"...for me, Lisa is the real deal...
