I also got used to Bella forums. It is not just that Delphi charges money but somehow I felt overwhelmed to see many messages there. Here we have a relaxed atmosphere and somehow I believe that the style of the forum helps to keep it this way.

Carl,

I could not find any other forum in this:http://cornerbarforums.com/forum/index.php?webtag=HOST

except this one

do they have multiple forums there?

I found the forum server like this:
http://www.proboards.com/index.html

if you look at features forums - it seems that their style is similar to ours now!

I prefer the bella-type boards. They are the most common type that I post on. I find them well organized, easy to use and with lots of features. Some boards are so boring and are not intuitive to navigate. I avoid them because I dont have hours to navigate and search for something that should be easy and relaxing. I like to check the forums/topics I am interested in, post, then move on to other matters.

That's .02cents worth (or .06403 Polish Zloty)!

Can you tell us where these other boards are hosted? Maybe one would work well for us.

Carl,

I could not find any other forum

Jaga -
Carl gave us a link for his forum at Cornerbar:

http://cornerbarforums.com/forum/index.php?webtag=DEBATES

Go there and click on "My Forums" at the top of the page - it will show you a list of all available forums there.

Nancy,

thanks. I was able to see the links. The problems I had with Delphi type of forums - it is a bit secluded group of people, not everybody can learn easily how to operate it. I am not sure.

There is one important feature. If you look at the bottom of the articles in Bella. For instance:
http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art34963.asp

there is something which is called Content Island - or forum feed - it let people to see the three most recent forum features on the web and this tremendously help to build the traffic in the forums.

I need to check with any future forum provider whether we could use this feature - whatever type of forum we chose.

I must profess to be "forum illiterate". I'm not sure how any of this comes about. The other forums I participate in all are war history and historical arms type forums. I could give you the links, but I'm not sure if that is of any value to you. I just know that the forums I post on all have the same "look" and "feel" as this forum. The categories are of course different, but their presentation, appearance and functionality are the same. Many different Topics, with different moderators, and many threads under each topic. You can use smiley's, post photo's using several different methods, and are also aesthetically pleasing. Since I know so very little how all this works, I guess I'm not explaining it well. Is this POLISH CULTURE" forum looking to join another "board", or to become an independent web site?

Once again, please excuse my ignorance in these matters.

Piwo,

it is my fault that I do not explain well the differences between all these forums. We have some members who still remember our other forums. But every change - especially if it involves a change in the format of the forum - also causes drastic reduction in amount of people who visit us!

So, the best is always to stick with something similar.
