I found this link on BoingBoing earlier today. This web site was put together by the friend of a bride who amassed the following images while researching for her own wedding. Some of it is haute couture gone amuck, and some of it is period goodness of days gone by. And The Bride Wore....

Thanks for the link Rae! I especially like the "sleeves bigger than my head" section. This photo cracks me up - http://www.visi.com/~dheaton/bride/pump.html

The second and third entries under "Oh, yeah. You'll wear these again..." found under Bridesmaid's Lament gave me a flashback to when I was a bridesmaid for my college roommate.
When my mom asked how bad the dresses were, I replied "The tea roses are the size of my head. We're not four bridesmaids and a flower girl, we're a four piece sectional and a throw pillow!"

Wow, Lynne seriously I wonder what everyone said when they saw that in person. Scary!

You might could use it as a Christmas tree! Or maybe the White Queen from "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe"
Headline: Wedding Gowns double as Halloween Costumes - Double the Value!
Michelle Taylor Why me? What did I do to deserve this? (go on, ask)

Some friends and I, determined to get the most use possible out of the ugliest bridesmaid dresses we owned, decided to start a tradition, where every couple of months, we'd deck out in the lovely frocks and go club-hopping. It was certainly a conversation starter, and completely hilarious, to boot.
