Generally, a low carb (but not no carb) diet with plenty of protein, sufficient veggies and fruit being sure to include some healthy fat such as olive oil and a little cocunut oil once in awhile.
It's important to have enough calcium, magnesium and other minerals, and probably a vitamin/mineral supplement would be helpful.
Perhaps keeping a food diary of what you do eat and how much could be a clue to figuring out what you could cut out.
In the morning for breakfast, I'm trying to have an egg mixed with egg whites to max protein and reduce calories. Eggs were on my list -- and substituting in the egg whites seemed a good way to "adapt" my diet.
Good luck
