Jaga,

I think this one is also yours! They also used the same photograph, but without credit.

But I think they improved the style of the article compared to mine <img src="/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

No, I do not agree. Yours is very good, and gives credit where appropriate.

Even if it may take time, if you believe that someone has plagiarised any of your articles for which you declared copyright within the limits of the Copyright Laws, it is almost your duty to do something about it. Ok, your articles do not earn you money directly, but there are many authors who rely on their works to do so, and plagiarism hits their profession. I was once even taken to task by a publisher of mine who accused me if sending (free) a page from the published title - actually the material concerned preceded the writing of the book so they could do nothing. That is how complex the Law is. But blatant copying of words breaks copyright - remember there is no copyright on ideas, just words. When in doubt, threaten them!!!!

Even if you do not "prosecute to the full extent of the law" you must let these people know that they have been found out. What they have done is dishonest and despicable, and it should not go unremarked. They should have asked permission and/or given you the credit. I wonder if they are on your mailing list for your newsletter?

Here is - how one can find your copy easily:

This site quickly shows you any site where your content is copied.
See Copyscape.com

Enter the URL of your article and it shows any copied articles and even highlights the copied text.

Here's a sample cease & desist letter too.

Of the three sites (so far!) that have copied your articles, this one is actually interesting in its own right, with good photos. I know I have been to that site before. I hope that if there are other articles or photos that need credit, she will provide them.

The other sites, especially the one with the "wedding tips" is really rather crude, altho the guys might get a laugh there.
