This song comes from a musical called "Dreamer" that was written by Cam Floria. The song was written by David Graham.
The musical "Dreamer" is about the story of Joseph. Talk about your role models! This man's faith was amazing. After being given a vision by God that he would be a mighty man in the land he was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, thrown into jail.... You would think the man would say "God what are You doing up there?!?" But he didn't, he kept on trusting and waiting on God's timing.
Our children's choir sang this song in a musical about the pilgrims. It is a beautiful song on its own. But what made it even more special is that there is a little boy in our choir named Wes who has severe Cerebral Palsy that affects pretty much all of his muscles, including his mouth so he's really not able to speak. But he LOVES music. So for the 1st verse we had a "duet", one of the girls sang the verse, and Wes signed it. His signing is not perfect because he can't do the fine motor skills stuff, but he got the point across. Then for the rest of the song the entire choir signed as well as sang.
It took me a long time to explain to a choir of K-5th graders why their pastor, openly sobbing on the front row, was a good thing.
[color:"red"] In moments like these, I sing out a song
I sing out a praise song to You, Lord
In moments like these, I sing out a song
I sing out a praise song to You.
Singing, I praise You, Lord
Singing, I praise You, Lord
Singing praise to You, Lord; I praise You
In moments like these, I sing out a song
I sing out a praise song to You, Lord
In moments like these, I sing out a song
I sing out a praise song to You.
Singing, I praise You, Lord
Singing, I praise You, Lord
Singing praise to You, Lord; I praise You [/color]
I forgot about this song this week. I had a rotten week, and i took it out on everybody. If you look around this board you'll notice a few apologies.
Keep this song in your heart when things go rough. The last thing you feel like doing is praising, but doesn't He deserve it anyway? I mean no matter what is going on bad now, he's already provided us with the best thing we could ever hope for, and He deserves praise for that alone.
That's what I forgot this week.
