I cant seem to get my character's attacks over 9999. Is there something else i should be doing? Their strengths are relatively high, but should they be higher?

you need weapons with break damage limit in its slot...yeah i know, so annoying eh? it's naturally in the character's celestial weapons when they are at full power, or you can spend 60 dark matter and attach it to a weapon.

But celestial weapons are better since they come with a piercing type of ability which doesn't cost a slot.

No, UW don't come with piercing, but they are still better weapons overall due to the abilities that atomatically come with them. However, you can still make better weapons if you have the right items...

the celestial weapons all have piercing, it just doesn't show on the slots.

hmm...i was naughty n borrowed my friend's strategy guide hehe <img src="/images/graemlins/angel.gif" alt="" /> im just going by what it told me lol. it says they can penetrate any armour...maybe that doesnt count the sort of guard move that iron giants n geminis do.
there's always the possibility that they made a mistake. im confused now tho! <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

piercing is the same as armour break.

try that instead... then reply and tell me if i was right! <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Not exatly man. Piercing hits an armored fiend with the same strength that it would hit a regular fiend. Armor Break nullifies armor AND lowers defense.
