Leslie,

can you talk to some people who are inolved with this guy - maybe if he would lose any credibility he would finally return you money. I remember you telling something about it before, this is a loss and I am sorry. Yes, among Poles we also have hienas, I knew some Polish people which I can clearly describe as bad or even evil people. I wish it was easier to get the money back in the situation like that. Can you sue him?

Referring to Polish orphancies. The problem are not the children who are complete orphans or taken away from their family forever. These children can be adopted easily. There is more Poles trying to adopt the child than children waiting for adoption. So, you may ask - why there are still kids in the orphancies - because many of these children still have their families, the families are disfunctional but their parents still hold some rights to them. The only way these kids can live in the regular families is by taking than to so called "subjugate family" - but not too many people decide to do so and then - they feel as like they are never a real part of anything.

Thank you for your kind comments. I have sent emails to a number of newspapers in Warszawa; the Polish Debtors Register; the Polish Consulate in London; to Zig Ziglar who appears now to be in a loose partnership with C&TI; to a lawyer in Warszawa recommended by the UK Consul General in Warszawa; and obviously, the UK Consul General in Warszawa; to a number of HR people who have attended my events over in Poland, arranged under Szelagowski; etc. The only reply I had the favour of receiving was from the UK Consul General. I am beginning to think that if there is nothing material in something for them, many organizations in Poland do not want to know.
To sue is not an option - the only 'agreements' I had with him were telephone calls and a small number of emails - shaky legal ground. Also, even if I eventually won, I cannot afford to sue as my recent divorce has put me into severe debt.
Starting to be in some despair of Polish people!!

Hi Leslie,
I am really very sorry about your problems with getting paid for the job you have done. In contrast to the Anglosaxon tradition, in continental Europe only the written contract forms the legal ground for future allegations. I assure you that nonetheless the vast majority of Poles that I know are just and honest people, as you wrote that "90% of the Polish people are so". I am also very sorry that you are disappointed to a degree of falling into despair about Polish people as a mass! I think it would be a very great loss if you'd draw general conclusions based on just one casus, especially that perhaps some kind of misunderstanding might have occured that will be soon cleared. I sincerely wish you all the best and I'd love if you'd keep us informed how the matter is going on.

Hi Adam
Thank you for your very kind comments. I doubt the final resolution of this as it is now over two months since he last sent anything. I have certainly learned my lesson, expensively, about being too trusting of people. Do you know any 'hit-men' in Warszawa?!!
Pozdrawiam
Leslie

Hit-men? Oh, you mean those sweet bald gentlemen in extemely elegant suits, dark glasses, riding black BMWs...
It's not worth it, they're usually not that loyal and could re-hit...
