I'm a bit of an all round 'artist' really. I write (yes really, what's the problem?), I cook and bake, I....oh look I do lots of things. Having a 'job' isn't important. Getting up at 9am every morning isn't important. It's being erm, creative that matters. And happy. And I'm really, really happy! Who needs money anyway?

By day I'm in higher ed. administration (steady paycheck and decent insurance), but if you follow the links under my signature you'll get an inkling of all of my other "jobs."

Happy trails!

Goodness, so many creative people here and such varied occupations!

Soul Flame, I'd be happy to help you with your writing. I actually stumbled on Stylewriter myself recently and thought it looked very promising, but I haven't used it myself. Feel free to send me an email through the self development contact page, and let's talk

Freespirit, I know exactly what you mean. Editing is the same way. Everybody thinks it's so easy to write, but there's a lot more to it than is obvious on the surface. And, yes, my work can get repetitive, too. But the more you love your work, at least, the less you mind the repetitious parts, yes?

But we're certainly a renaissance group here. I'll bet many of us are like familychoice and are drawn to all sorts of creative outlets in addition to our main pursuits--I know I am. I love movies, music, art--I tried painting but couldn't quite get the hang of it, although I discovered I can draw fairly well--and I love the seeing all the amazing things people put on the Internet--searching for something online feels like an adventure to me.

I don't know--creativity is a strange thing. It seems like we can be really creative in some ways but not in the one area we WANT to be, you know? Hence the continuing search...

Well I am a bit like familychoice. Not as creative as every one else. Being retired I get up early, prepare meals, clean but have my hobbies and the main one is dancing.

The main thing is if we enjoy what we do.

I collect movies that are not musicals but have dancing in them, such as Scent of a Woman with its wonderful tango scene, and My Blue Heaven with the (I don't know how to spell it...) Merengue?

I need to explore more. I didn't know this self-development thread was here. I'm a probation officer for the Province of BC.
