My husband and I went to see "Bad Santa" when that came out and someone brought their three young kids to see it. The mom took the kids out about halfway through the film. I'm not sure what she expected. It was rated "R" and the kids could only get in with a parent.

I agree on the talking, cell phones, crying babies, and kicked seats. I'd like to add the chronic cough, and the mid-movie-must-have-more-junkfood or use-the-bathroom people stepping on your toes and knocking you knees going out and back in again.

Other than the people, sometimes the theaters are way too loud.

Oh, one more. The tallest person on Earth decides to sit right in front of you. Never fails.

I'm so glad their's DVD's.

Ooooooooh that drives me nuts! When i hear people explaining plots. I want to turn around and go "If you would shut up and WATCH you might KNOW what's going on!"

When we have DVDs @ home my so w/ Asperger's will ask 15,000 questions that will normally be answered in the course of the movie - but I know he's going to do that, so I DON'T take him to the theatre on movies like Gattaca (I didn't think I would actually get to hear that movie for his questions!)

I think we're watching more and more movies at home. (The popcorn is a lot cheaper there too!) But one thing that's happened to me several times at the theater...you're the first one in there and the very next people who come in have to sit right in front of or next to you. (Especially when it ends up being 5-10 people in the theater!)

I went to see Wedding Crashers this weekend and a girl sitting one chair down talked on the phone throughout the movie. It was so irritating.

What I don't get is WHY you would spend the money that theatres charge these days to see a movie, and then spend the entire time on the phone w/ someone & not watch it!
No sense whatsoever.

If someone done that in Ireland (where I come from), they'd soon be asked (nicely first) to stop. If this didn't work they'd then be "told" to shut up by other people watching the movie . If they still didn't stop this extremely selfish act, they'd be asked to leave by the staff. That usually does the trick!

I hate people that sit beside you and take over the arm rest. I think you should at least leave one sit between you and people you don't know. I saw a woman one day eat out of another woman's popcorn bucket. They didn't know each other. The woman was just going down the aisle to sit down. I have signed up for Netflex. I watch my movies at home and one month is cheaper than going to the movie once.

One of my peeves is when someone sits the row or 2 rows in front of you and props their feet up on the seat in front of them so you see nothing but a size 12 Nike in the middle of the screen. Another one is people who make out within your line of vision. A hotel room is a little more expensive but at least you won't be making people want to throw up in their pop corn tub that they paid $10 for.

For some reason, here in America people want to fight if you ask them to stop being a pain in the butt. You would think that it would be common sense to watch a movie you paid money to see, but I guess it isn't. I guess if you are rude enough to talk on a phone in a movie, you are the kind of person that gets violent over little things.
