My name is Michelle. I'm an American living in Russia (my husband works here). We've been living in Moscow for about 5 yrs. I have a 3 yr old girl and am due w/ my 2nd (gender still unknown)on June 10.
My dd is very active and opinionated. She's really into "testing her limits" lately. Oye! I hope this phase goes by quickly (somehow, I really doubt it though).

I am the mother of two. My oldest is a son (3). The baby is a 1 yr old girl (May 21). I never thought a child could be so sweet. She is reserved, but head strong. I am surprised by her everyday. She looks just like I did when I was little, so it is like looking at myself. My son is always testing his limits too. He is on meds for some medical problems he is having, so he is even worse now. I have been calling his Dr asking when the "wild" child is going to leave and my sweet little boy is coming back. He has always tested his limits, but this is bad. My mom says wait until they are teenagers if you think they are opinionated now.

Oh Judith, teenagers :::shaking my head:::. I have a 23yo son and my soon to be 17yo daughter and then there is my birthson that is almost 20 (he made me a grandmother in December). The boys have the same father and I am beginning to think it really is genetics over enviroment on some things, they act just alike. Megan, on the other hand, has a different father and is totally different, not just because she is a girl either.

Everything I ever heard said girls were harder to raise than boys, not in this case. My daughter is turning into a wonderful young woman who is compassionate and caring, tho we do still have the teenage angst and mood swings once in a while. She is very laid back and usually takes things in stride, unless you catch her on one of those teenage angst days...LOL!

I can't believe my baby girl is almost grown and will be a senior in high school this next school year. Enjoy them while they are small, it flies by entirely too fast.

I babysit while mom is working and grandbabies are so much fun! She is hard headed and some days she just pushes my buttons! Then she will run to me and hug and kiss me and my heart just melts! She is just the sweetest thing!

Here are some photos of her:

Tiffany and our 7 month old puppy Woody who is in love with her

They are so sweet, Connie!

We're having boys this year. (Nephews, two born days apart in April.) But for a good long stretch, there were girls, girls, girls. In our family, it seems the boys produce girls and the girls boys. Only two of my brothers have girls, but all the girls have boys. Am I confusing? We have 17 nieces and nephews, so there are plenty of kids to play with.

Me? I have only one, a boychick. But I have a God-daughter, who is like a daughter to me. She's a pistol. She's 10 now and has had to defend her soul against her two elder brothers. I predicted when she was born that she would put manners on them, and so she has. Yesterday, at a family party, when I saw her, I said, "Hello, God-daughter," and she came back with a huge smile, "Hello, God-mother." Made my day. Mmmm, I guess my point is that we don't have to give birth to the person to have a child of the heart.

We have a rash of girls in hubby's family. There are 2 boys and 6 girls out of he and his 4 brothers. The 5 of them were all boys. Guess maybe the next generation might go back to boys?

I've heard that it's possible the skew the odds, but I've forgotten the formula. It involves altering the prospective mother's pH. Acid for one gender; alkaline for the other.
