In my very inexpert opinion, vandaceous orchids need way more light than you could ever possibly provide indoors.
My vanda/ascocendas are grown outside in nearly full sun (south Louisiana), and that seems to suit them.
Even in a very bright window setting, I think you'll still be disappointed in their performance. This family is notorious for being heat- and sun-loving.
If you can't provide an outdoor growing area in the warm months, perhaps you could get a friend with a greenhouse to foster them for you; or trade for plants that require less sun. Bummer, huh? They are truly beautiful in flower.
Regards - Nancy

I would have to agree with Nancy. Vandas are very high light plants. You may be able to grow them indoors if you use HPS or MH lamps, but those creat ALOT of heat and light. Something your not going to recreate under fluorescents.
