I've been a Narnia fan for many, many years now. I've been watching the making of the new movie with interest and am now avidly waiting for it's release.

I'm also eagerly awaiting the release of LWW. I've loved the books for years and have read the entire series at least twice. My kids aren't quite old enough, though I've toyed with the idea of starting to read it to them and see if they like it (they're 4 & 6).
I hope they do a good job of translating the book to the screen. I loved the Lord of the Rings movies, but I also love the books and have to keep them as two separate entities, because they made so many changes when they wrote the screenplay.

I just found another movie clip online: mms://media.vitalstream.com/bvbp_sitestream_com/LionWitchWardrobe/Narnia_Chapter4_Story_0056.wmv?media=1928340&package=1841733
I think they just released it! What do you think?

Thanks for posting the clip. It looks exciting, but it also looks like they've taken another children's classic and made it a bit too scary for young viewers. Some of those creatures look pretty intense!

Some of those creatures look pretty intense! hi terri! I'm glad you like it Its so much fun to be able to share this kind of stuff with other narnia fans. I am always keeping my eyes open for new stuff, so I'll be sure to share I definitely noticed the same thing - that this isn't necessarily a kids movie. I sort of like that they are raising it to a more adult level. I think its in line with the book. Do you think it will appeal to more or less people because of this?

I haven't read the book for quite awhile, so I don't recall how he handled the battles, etc.
I'm pretty sure that CS Lewis wrote these books for children. He received all sorts of letters from his young fans and always responded to them. He didn't believe in "talking down" to children. So I'm not sure if I agree with making the movie too intense for younger children. Of course, my boys (4 & 6 years old) are still a bit young for the books, though they did enjoy the BBC production...
I'm sure the way they've done the movie will make it more appealing to a broader audience, but I hope that parents of young children will think twice before taking their little ones, or see the movie on their own first to make sure it's okay.
Then again, you can never tell for sure from a 5 second clip, how much of something will actually be in a movie!

How exciting! I had no idea they were making a movie from the books of Narnia. I haven't read them in at least 10 years, but I remember really loving them. I think I'll have to re-read them before the movie comes out!
