Thankyou, Mimmi. I only use PaintShopPro7 to work in . I find it can do all I want to do at the level I am at . This BellOnline site ,with all it's information ,will probably prompt me to try others.
I hope you will be contributing too.
Kind regards from NZ.

Hi Ella,

Your image called Male and female created He them is beautiful. How did you create it? Did you have the idea for the image first or did the image evolve as you worked on it?

Thankyou, Diane. I made the background in PSP7 first...added the light source then the couple...they are a cutout of a photo I have of a garden ornament...then I used the Liquid Energy filter from Repligator for the final effect. The idea came from the photograph and I just played around until I had the desired effect.

That is very clever Diane...I have had a look at downloading Fractal Express or similar but if it involves mathmatics & calculations...I would be USELESS !
This I did in PSP7 from a photo I took last week. I call it...Homeward Bound...the last glimpse of the bay in the rearview mirror.

Hi Ella,

I love the sky in Homeward Bound it is so warm. And the rearview mirror is great.

You should download the free Fractal Explorer and give it a try. It doesn't require any mathematics at all from the artist. All of the algorithms are built in and you just choose from a series of drop-down lists. It's like painting with algorithms. You never know what you are going to get. You just click on something from the list and the image changes. Because the change is the result of many factors put together its always a surprise how the image will change each time. That surprise is what makes this type of digital art so channeling and exciting to me. It can look really bad and then you click on another from the drop-down list and it may become something entirely different. Give it a try. I promise you don't need to know any math.

This is another photo I took of a sunrise this week...and put a "visitor" in . Called it the Dawn Maker. [Done once again in PSP7]

I just finished this two days ago - I call it Atlantean fall - made mostly in PhotoImpact by Ulead. This is one of my favorite digital programs (besides Photoshop). Oops, I forgot to mention that I did the background landscape in the free Terragen program.

Thanks Ella and Diane,

I appreciate your feedback. Ella, your new work is beautiful - it reminds me of the crown chakra opening up, extending into the etheric planes. I downloaded Fractal Explorer after reading the posts here but haven't had time to experiment yet.

Digital art is such fun - I find it both healing and expressive.

Hi Diane and Ella,

All of the work you have posted recently are captivating - excellent use of the various features in PSP and the Fractal program (I still need to find some time to "play" with this new program - I downloaded it after Diane suggested it but haven't had time to play).

This piece has a background from Terragen, photos of my daughter Ariana and my granddaughter, Natalia. The rendering was done in PhotoImpact and Photoshop. I call it Fey Summit.

Thanks Ella!

I really enjoy making backgrounds in Terragen - once you get the hang of it, it only takes a few hours to get a realistic looking landscape.

I was going for a "Lord of the Rings" background look here. The photo of my two girls reminded me so much of fey that I just had to put wings, etc. on them.

This was really fun and Ari loved it! She also has a newborn little prince now, Damien - I will have to do something magical with him too!

Thanks for your feedback, Ella!!!

June, I found this site only a few hours ago, l was only looking for a game of 'hangman' to play, and I've been totally engrosed with so much that is on the "Bella" site for hours. I just found this part of the site, and loved the work you did with the picture of yourself and your daughter. I'm a PSP addict, and just love trying new things. I push alllll the buttons and hope for the best, lol. Your picture inspired me to try something new. It's beautiful.

Thanks Bernadette,

For your feedback on Fey Summit - this one was definitely a joy to create. My daughter is so gorgeous (I actually have two gorgeous daughters and four handsome sons) - makes a wonderful model for my work.

This part of Bella is Diane's domain - I am really enjoying the discussions she has initiated about digital art - my personal key means of self-therapy.

Welcome to Bella! I like your approach to learning digital software That's the best way - devote the time and you'll get the program, no pun intended,....

Ella, your last two pieces are magnificent!

Thankyou for you welcome Diane and June. I was very impressed with the art on this forum. I was terrified of Pc's and my son had one, and he said, have a play with it mum. I just browsed through the programs and found Psp and started playing with it, just pushing all the buttons to see what happened and it was great fun. I used to create a background and use other peoples tubes. I make all my own backgrounds now and I've just started making my own tubes too. My daughter was recently married and boy have I had some fun playing with the wedding pics.I thoroughly enjoy playing with photo's. I've cropped, cloned, coloured, warped and de-wrinkled people, lol, and cloning her wedding bouquet and dress to use as frames. But I still want to learn so much more. Here's some of things I enjoy doing in Psp.....I hope I can learn lots more here....

I made the frame for this pic of my two daughers out of the Wedding Dress and The Bridesdmaid Dress.

Wedding Bouquet Cropped and Created a Frame using the Wedding Bouquet.

De-Wrinkling, lol, Before and After Psp....

Just a Background I'm going to use for something, one day...

Bernadette,

Oh what beautiful daughters and they look so lovely in their dresses. I really like the idea of making the frame for the picture from their dresses. The picture of the bouquet is so professional looking and your background reminds me of a landscape of a far off planet. Don't you wish we could really remove our "character lines" from our faces that easily! That's the best way to learn how to use PSPro - just play and have fun.

Thanks for joining in and keep posting your beautiful work,

I'm still playing in PSP and having fun, but getting frustrated too. My daughters original ballet teacher wants me to design some stationery and note paper for her. I've tried about 30 designs but they all look a bit 'ikky', lol.. I realised I couldnt use anyone else's tubes because of copyright so I got pics of my daughter and made tubes out of them. I'm still plodding along.. Here's one I made, but it looks to 'empty' or something. And if I put flowers in it, it looks too over done. Just have to find a balance I guess...I hope..lol Any Ideas would be wonderful thanks....

I made the three below a year or more ago, using other peoples tubes. I just made the backgrounds and added some lighting and whatever.

I called this one Natures Symphony

This, I called Majestic Isolation

And this one - Outcast

Hello Bernadette, I am very impressed with ALL your work. Your girls are beautiful...take after their Mother, I think ! To me...your Ballerina Notepaper is perfect...I prefer it as it is..any more would be overload, to my mind anyway.
I too have lots of fun playing with "photo retouching"...it is great finding out all PSP can do. I hope you will keep posting...your work is just great !
This is my contribution to D.A.D. today...

Hi,

Bernadette, I agree with Ella that the stationary is good just like it is. Once your teacher adds the address and body of the letter if will not look so empty. It was a nice personal touch to use images of your daughters. The Symphony image is really nice too. And the picture of your daughters would be good for a Pepto-Bismol commercial.

Ella, I'm looking for that pot of gold too.

I loved your "Pot of Gold" Ella...It gave me a lovely feeling of Hope, searching for things, and finding something special....
Ella, I'll tell you if the ballet teacher pics that blue ballet one or not.lol

It's winter here now, so to make me feel a tad warmer, I thought I'd put this one on.

It's Called Summer Heat

I've been playing with pics for the last couple of months since my daughter got married in February, more than creating scenes. I enjoy doing both. I dont know about you, but I get totally lost in them and its a great feeling. Hope you dont mind more wedding pics, but I've played with hundreds of them since she was married and found lots a fun and wonderful ways to see photo's in different ways.....
The pic below was my daughter leaving the reception after her wedding in the car, I removed the car and just used her face from the pic.....

Your memories of Summer is just right for today and the work you did on your daughter's wedding photograph is so professional...I am sure it will become a family treasure and well worth exhibiting.

Diane, I'm guessing the Pepso thingy is for an upset stomach, lol, we dont have that here, but yes they look a tad unwell....lol
Yes Ella and Diane, when I put flowers or something else with the stationery it looks "too much"..overdone..I think you are right. Simple is better.......

Learning to make the tubes in Psp was a wonderful challenge, as I never thought I'd ever be able to do them. I tried a while ago and gave up in desperation, but finally tackled them. I've even scanned things around my home and made them into tubes. Psp lets your imagination fly. Its wonderful....

I had so much fun with the wedding bouquet. I put it in and around everthing..lol. The clone button is magic in psp...

Hi Bernadette,

You are a woman on fire!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE what you have done with pix of your daughters (they are gorgeous, btw!).

I especially like the reddish floral stationary with your daughters in the ballet gown in the upper left and jeans etc. in a modeling pose in the bottom right. Are your daughters professional models? If not, they sure look like it!

Wonderfully creative work!!!

June, no my daughters arn't models. My eldest the bridesmaid works for an architect. She did some hand modelling once, lol, and my baby the bride, when she was 2 said "when I grow up I'm going to be a ballerina"..Well she started dancing, and I couldnt stop her. I wanted her to widen her horizens a little bit, but keep her dancing. She is quiet and dedicated and shy, but refused to do anything but dance. She is due home today from Singapore where she has been performing for the last 2 weeks. She has signed another 3 contracts with Disney before the end of the year, is off to China and Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei and Shanghi. She once said to me June, "if you asked me to stop dancing, it would be like telling me to stop breathing". Even when she was studying dance full time, she said, if she never performed on stage in a show, it wouldnt bother her, as long as can dance every day..She is a beautiful human being June, with a gentle heart, dedicated without being big headed. She didnt go after the work, Disney contacted her. She is only 19, married to a wonderful man, and touring Asia dancing, and is far more level headed and mature than lots of 30 year olds I know. I love all my children equally, but differently, and this is her time to shine, and I'm proud of her. According to the contract I cant say who she is when she performs for Disney, and after all her classical and jazz training she is having a ball doing the shows....I am only offically allowed to say, I'm a very good friend of Minnie Mouse....lol

Long time - no see !

I am being careful about using the Internet since my modem went down twice in 1 week because of the terrible weather we are having...but where is everyone else ?

In a lighter vein....another old question....

What came first the chicken or the egg ?....

Hi Ella!

I too have not been participating much in other discussions beyond my own three channels here: I wrenched my shoulder a couple of weeks ago and it has taken time to heal.

All of the creations posted here lately are incredible: this certainly is a talented group of artists here!!!

Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum, from NYC. I've been reading at work, but just joined. This is a great community, so I was hoping for some feedback on my art...I'm working on a website but its taking a long time. This is called "Woman Reading", is about that feeling that you want to be alone, but you also want friends, lovers...and its also about the power of a woman who reads, takes care of herself.

I of Solitude. Good to meet you here. I use PSP7 and Repligator filters for my pictures...also have the programme Terragen which makes realistic photographic quality background vistas...land or sea etc. Hope you will contribute your work too.

Peonyista...thanks for putting your picture on the board. Did you paint that or is it a composite picture ? What programme do you use ?It is VERY good and I look forward to seeing more of your very talented work. I sometimes paint with PSP7 but I can't do people.
This is the kind of thing I do.....

Hello all,

Sorry I haven't been around for a few days. The old flu bug got me!

Welcome to I of Solitude and peonyista.

peonyista, I really love the detail in your image. The little face peaking in the window is a nice touch.

Ella, your new picture is lovely. Did you start with a photograph?

I of Soliture, we all use Paint Shop Pro and some of us use Photoshop, Fractal Explorer and some other fun programs. It's always the highlight of my day when someone posts a new image.

Hope to see more of your artwork!

Sorry you have been under the weather , Diane...hope you are 100% again and enjoying some lovely Summer sunshine . A good pickmeup !

You are right I do copy pictures or photos I like...at least I try to with PSP7.

Here is the photo (taken on the 28th Jan 04..our summer)and the copy together. I find it a bit trying on the old eyes but good to experiment and extend what I can do on the computer.

Hi Ella,

Thanks for sharing some of your holiday images with us. I love the way you captured the glow of the Christmas tree lights. And the Santa with your grand-nephew in the tree ornament is so sweet. Have a great holiday.

The bell in the old clock tower chimes twelve
And Old Year is laid to rest.
No mourners to follow his casket
As the waning moon sinks in the west.

Baby New Year is hailed with joy
He's feted with parties and wine -
And there's hope in the air -some prayers perhaps -
That this Year will grow better with time.

So my fervent wish for my family and friends
Is that every new day will bring treasure -
Peace to your home and new hope in your heart
Time for work, time for rest, time for leisure.

Go boldly believing that all will be well
And give of yourself as you do ...
Make the most of each minute and hour and day
And may good things keep happening to you !

Thanks for the new images. The gold one reminds me of those old fashioned Christmas ornaments from the earily 1900's.

I've just been back again at the site I recommended with all the links for Tubes etc. etc.....and I find a lot of them are broken ...no longer supported by that site. I am very disappointed as the few I first picked to try were OK.

Hello!

I see a lot of great work here!
Thought I'd say Hello and share one of mine.
Created in Photoshop CS. I think it would make a good 'black light' poster.

Although not being a favorite for most people, I love abstracts.
This one was created in Bryce.

I like your image created with Bryce. It is amazing the 3D that you can do with that program! If you like fractals you might want to try out Ultrafactal or Fractal Explorer.

Unfortunately, those are PC. Haven't yet found a decent fractal program for Mac.
Has anyone used the new Bryce 5.5 since it was taken over by Daz?

You have beautiful lighting in this image. It pulls me right into your artwork.

If you would like to try Ultrafractal they have a new version released this week. UF will work on a Mac if you get Virtual PC. You really love abstracts and you will probably love UF.

Thanks, Diane .. I'll look into it!

... Although it may cause me great agony to subject my Mac to a Virtual PC environment. LOL

(ducks while PC users throw virtual objects at me)

We have a website www.wishafriend.com
We have recently introduced quotes, ticker, countdown timer and matrix text effect.

It takes less than a minute to copy past these flash designs in your blog or myspace profile. I have put a demo on my blog- http://painsandpleasuresoflife.blogspot.com/

We are offering lot many other designs such as graphics, comments, surveys, polls, countup timers, etc.etc.

All of these flash designs are free for use and without any adware.

I have PSP also. The only thing I know how to do with it is upload a few fotos. How did you learn to use yours. Classes. What do you think is the best avenue to learn the software. (I wan to learn how to do Warhol like images.

Can someone please explain waht tubes are. Are they the same thing as clipart.

Also looks like the tutorials for PSP is self learning and not actually in a chat learning with others. Is that correct. The oo prior to lesson 01 talks about IRC and mIRC but I think it is not an active site or am I wrong (new to this)

Paint Shop Pro has a special type of clip art that they call Tubes.
Most of the tube art has a drop shadow already and they can be anything from leaves to bugs. There is a Picture Tube tool that you use to "paint" the tube clip art. When you use this tool, the Tools Palette has a list of the tubes available. You can also scale the tubes up to 250% and set the step up to 500. The smaller the step number, the closer together the tubes will "paint" on your image.

Paint Shop Pro still has some followers but Photoshop Elements is more popular. So some of the PSP user groups are not as active as in the past. You can find tutorials for PSP on the Corel site.

Just sharing some digital art I have from my art gallery. Going from oldest to newest (the newer ones look better, and I have more in my gallery than what I`m posting here). Descriptions are below the image once you click the link. Feel free to ask me any questions or whatever. :3 I`m pretty sure I selected ones that follow the board rules.

This thread has been quiet recently. Here are some fractals that I created using Apophysis, Fractal Explorer, and ChaosPro:

Oooo - Anita "Edge of the Universe" is gorgeous!

and NetBella - I love the 5th picture with the oriental flowers. That would be absolutely beautiful for a wedding or shower invitation!

I have PSP PRO X. Haven't a clue how to use it. You have to know what each feature is about and how to use them to get results. If anyone has any good tutorials they can recommned to me to get me started. I only know the simple things to use like cut, paste, copy and resize.....not anyhting about layers, vectors, etc....all that is a foreign language to me. Suggestions welcome.By the way I am a visual learner not a read and learn and do. I need to be showen. Thanks.
