At least that's what she looks like. I'd like to announce the newest addition to my family. She is a bassett hound/black lab mix. She is 2 years old and I adopted her today from the local shelter. Right now she and Simba are fast asleep in this room as I type. She is a sweetie and Simba is adjusting okay so far (just a little squabble where she showed teeth and growled when he got too nosy). She is the funniest looking dog. Without bending over, she fits under my coffee table! I will take photos later after she gets more comfortable (though I don't know how much more comfortable she can get...she's having puppy dreams right now...) Her name? Slinky.

That was already her name. The people at the pound said "I'd change her name." I said, "no! It's perfect!" Simba and Slinky, LOL!!!!

Congratulations on the new addition to your family! I'm sure Slinky will love being with you and Simba. They seem to have already adjusted to each other well.

I went into the kitchen to make some popcorn. As soon as that first kernel popped, Slinky came running in (well, as fast as a basset hound can run). She loves popcorn. I knew I liked this dog!

Nice pics of Slinky! Congratulations to you on the new addition to your household, Marian. I confess I did get a little worried when I first read "Black Lab cut off at the knees", though. Thank goodness this was not one of those animal stories we all hate to read.
