When I need a good pick-me-up I have several favorite movies that make me laugh..
She-Devil (Meryl Streep & Roseanne) Bringing Down the House (Steve Martin & Queen Latifah) Legally Blonde (Reese Witherspoon) Sixteen Candles (Molly Ringwald) Hocus Pocus (Bette Midler & Kathy Najimy) The 'Burbs (Tom Hanks) Down & Out in Beverly Hills (Bette Midler & Nick Nolte) Coming to America (Eddie Murphy & Arsenio Hall) Friday (Ice Cube) Next Friday (Ice Cube)
.... the list goes on... all my favorites though. Anyone else have favorites they want to share?

My current favorite without a doubt:
Austin Powers Goldmember
We laugh all the way through it every time! Our daughter (3.5 years old) is going to be FOXXY for Halloween. That should be good.

I'm totally about brainless guilty pleasure comedies on off days: Meet the Parents, Elf, Ferris Bueller's Day off, and definitely Miss Congeniality!
I can't wait for the second one either!

There are three that depend on what kind of bad day;
If someone made me really mad: The Fifth Element (I know most people would consider this action, but it is hilarious!)
if I just need a little bit of hope: While You Were Sleeping
And if I jsut had a real bluesy day and need to laugh hysterically: Rat Race (the 1st time I saw the scene w/ the cow I had to make my husband stop the tape because I almost peed in my pants!)
2 other good stadbys are: Miss Congeniality and Bruce Almighty (when he made the other newscaster speak gibberish - Auuuuughhhh!)
Michelle Taylor Why me? What did I do to deserve this? (go on, ask)

Old School Dodgeball Wedding Crashers (big Vince Vaughn fan)
"Classics" like Stripes or National Lampoon's Vacation

You know this is such a bad movie but parts of it are soo funny that I love it-- [color:"purple"] The Sweetest Thing [/color](Christina Applegate is hysterical in it). The scene when the pipes burst in the mens bathroom and they both get drenched with toilet water makes me crack up.

'Clockwise' with John Cleese. It's a good reminder that however bad a day you think you've had it wasn't really *that* bad!

Trains, Planes, And Automobiles definitely is around the top of my list for comedies. "Those aren't pillows!!!"
Bruce Almighty was excellent as well (though I'm not a huge fan of Jim Carrey's movies, I do love that one...and I think he's an excellent actor; but for some reason I haven't cared for the parts he's played in many). However, not only is this movie funny, but I found it carried a wonderful message as well. It really touched my heart.
I also love the Scary Movie series...they are just so over-the-top silly that you cannot 'not' laugh.
Will think of more later...

As people are writing "tag lines" I will too, but not until after:
First, the movies I listed in "watch over & over again" are the comedies that would cheer me up.
Second, thanx to someone for telling me where "I want my $2" came from. As I recall, that bit was really the only funny thing in the movie, wasn't it?
and finally, certainly a pick me up feel good movie is "The princess Bride" -
Vizini: Inconceivable! Inigo: I don't think that word means what you think it does.

"American Beauty" with Kevin Spacey and Annette Benning. Not funny to you? It's VERY dry and poignant humour. Good for transformational situations where you've been stuck and need to remember why moving on is freeing. "Little Big Man" w/ Dustin Hoffman & Faye Dunaway .Just funny. Circle of life & human nature. "White Chicks" yes, that's what I said, "White Chicks" for the ridiculous kind of funny. I guess I'm amused most by human nature...? "Harold & Maude" Inspirational. "Meet the Fockers" or "Meet the Parents" if you can stand watching some seriously bad luck fall. Any stand up by George Carlin or Robin Williams or Whoopie Goldberg.
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember what you said.
