HI! My dd's name is Charis Thunder and my ds' name is Thane Takaaniman (ojibway for "cold wind"). Their dad is American and I'm a native person, so I felt the need to give them native middle names as part of their heritage.

Kat

Hi Kat. I love your kids' names! How do you say your dd's first name? Is the "a" like in "share" or "far"? Is "Ch" like in "chair" or "share"? Thanks!

Charis is pronounced with a hard C and the h is silent.. Kar-iss. It's greek meaning "Peace". Thanks! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

My son is Thor Michael and my daughter is Caroline Judith. My husband's name is Christopher Michael, so he wanted to give our kids' names that are different. We didn't want to give them names that would turn into nicknames either. I wanted to give Caroline the middle name Eula, my grandma's name and my middle name. But I like her name because it means beautiful woman praised by God.

I have five adopted children. I named the three boys because they were tiny babies when we got them. The names were popular and ordinary ...

Jonathan Gene Moore (middle name after his grandpa, Gene)
David Dale Moore (middle name after his father, Dale)
Daniel William Moore (middle name after quite a few Williams on both sides of our family).

We were going to called Jonathan -- Jonathan Dale Moore and David -- David Gene Moore, but the initials of David's name would have been the same as my husband's (Dale Gene Moore), so we switched them around.

Our two girls, Robyn Allison and Tara Verveen, had been renamed when they were adopted at ages 3 and 5. So we didn't want to give them yet another name, but I really did want to name some girls what I wanted -- oh well!

Robyn has now gone back to her birth name of "Amanda". Tara is still Tara (pronounced Tar (sticky road stuff) and "a" (like uh) -- Tar-uh.

I find the names you put into this forum exciting and adventurous. So keep 'em comin'!

LOL!

Glenny

Hi again! I forgot to tell you that the family that adopted our two girls, Robyn and Tara, changed their names when they were 3 and 5.

We adopted them when Robyn was 8 and then two years later, Tara, her half-sister, who was 12.
