I have been out of church for a while because of strange hours at work, but have recently rejoined a church - they don't meet until 1 pm, which is great, I personally think that it is not a bad thing to not go to church, but in my opinion when your faith begins to slip, it's nice to have others around you that believe. It helps keep your own faith strong.

I think you are absolutely right. Its sort of like taking an ember out of the fireplace and laying it on the floor by itself. It glows red but gradually goes out and becomes cold. When it's put back into the fire it will flame again.

We can keep our own flame burning but it isn't easy and often will start to go out so gradually that we don't even notice.
