My husband bought me the most darling cream-colored snowman mug for Christmas. Impressions of snowflakes are on the mug, as well as two different snowmen pictures. It says "Be Merry". It's awesome! However... Just today I got a 20 oz cappucino mug in the mail, and I LOVE IT! Fiestaware Cinnabar 418 20-Ounce Cappuccino Mug I have a Cobalt Blue set of dishes, including 4 mugs. I almost bought some Cinnabar mugs. (Love that color!) But I thought I'd risk getting the larger capuccino mug, and I'm so glad I did! I thought it would be heavy, but it isn't. Another plus is that the handle loop is much larger than the mug handle. (But since I have small hands, it doesn't matter to me...but some people seem to mind going by the Amazon.com reviews of the smaller mug.) What is your favorite mug or cup like? Is it me, or does Starbuck's taste better in ceramic (and not paper!)

I hate those paper cups they add a sort of chemical aftertaste to the coffee its a china cup for me (if I am at home). Just wish china mugs were larger, I always have to have 2-3 mugs of coffee in the morning to get started than I drink jasmine green tea in the day.

Hi Janet. I have this favorite coffee mug that my sis sent me from Michigan. It says "Coffee Fiend!" on one side and then "Leelaunau coffe roasting Co" on the other. I left it in my neighbors truck one day- and all the sudden it became HER fav. coffee cup.. grr.. had to sneak it back home- haha- She just said "Hey, when did u steal your coffee cup back?" Quel

Meshella, you're probably right about the paper. I don't believe I ever had jasmine green tea. How is that different from regular green tea? (I've had regular green tea, and green tea with mint.) 'Quel LOL! Isn't it funny how those mugs/cups become mine...all mine! Coffee fiend...that's a good one! I'm finding, though, that it's not a good idea to keep filling up that huge cappucino mug with coffee, though. As I mentioned in my article Stress Relief - Caffeine and Sleep it tends to exacerbate stress levels and irritability. (If I'd only heed the information that I write about! I'm sooo tempted to make a pot of coffee right now... )

I prefer my Pfaltzgraff pedastel mugs. They keep my coffee and tea warm longer than a regular mug. I'd love to have a bigger cup but I find that with 4 kids I tend to sit my cup down a lot in the mornings.
That mug you posted a picture of is gorgeous! Love the color!

Hi Cheryl!
I was actually debating between a pedestal mug or the one that I ended up getting. It was through Amazon, so it was 'sight unseen'. Maybe I'll get a pedestal mug, too, eventually!
I really love the cinnabar color. I bought 2 cereal bowls in that color, too, and I love looking at it/using them, as well. The good thing about getting that kind of stuff at Amazon is that it's usually cheaper there plus if you order $25 or more, you can use Super Saver Shipping. I knew how heavy FiestaWare was, so I had wondered if Amazon would even allow Super Saver...but they did!

The super saver at Amazon can be a real money saver!
My dish set from Pfaltzgraf was discontinued several years ago so if I want a new piece I usually have to rely on eBay and sometimes the shipping is more than the purchase price. (It's heavy like Fiesta Ware)
I was actually thinking about getting some Fiesta Ware in the blue to use with my dish set. I love it's last-a-bility, like Pfaltzgraf.

Yes, it sure does save money!
I knew that Pfaltzgraf was heavy like Fiesta Ware, but I just never bought any pieces when I was out and about.
I had never heard of Fiesta Ware before a co-worker of my husband's told him about it. Apparently he and his wife go down to the Fiesta Ware warehouse every once in awhile and asked my husband if we wanted anything.
It was then that I got my full dish set. Then I'd add pieces in different colors like a seafoam green oval serving bowl, light blue gravy boat, butter dish, other bowls, and so on.
And guess what, Cheryl? I'm brewing a pot of coffee as we speak! LOL I debated if that was wise to do, but ah well. All this talk of coffee, and I just love Starbuck's Breakfast Blend. (And of course, I'll be drinking out of that big 20 ouncer!)

Janet have you ever heard of Bybee? If you like the Fiesta Ware, you'd probably love Bybee. It's all handmade in Kentucky and it's heavy like Fiesta Ware. It's also fabulous for keeping warm foods warm and cold stuff cool.
If you buy Bybee in a retail store it can be a bit pricy but it's a definite collector's item (has been for years and years) and you can usually find pieces on eBay reasonably.

No, Cheryl, I've never heard of them. Maybe I saw them in a store? What stores are likely to carry that brand?

As serendipity would have it, I'm drinking coffee right now! I've been using that cute snow man mug my husband got me for Christmas last year. I think I've laid off using the pedestal mug for fear of caffeine overload. :rolling:

Great thread!
I have several favorites. BUT currently I have been using a white Starbuck's holiday mug at the shop. And at home my favorite goddess mug. This latter mug I picked up a few summers ago at the solstice fair. It actually holds almost 16 oz! LOL
My other favorites are my fortune tea cups! I recently got an amy brown fairy mug to use at work too. So many mugs so little time!

Coffee cups, coffee mugs, paper cups, whatever! If you want a real treat then run some cheap ole American ground coffee through an espresso maker. This will give you a new outlook on coffee taste. I heard that American Arabaca coffee contains more caffene than Espresso. Any truth to this?

I have lots of coffee cups and my favorite is the first clean one I find when I want coffee...but I do have a huge White Castle Mug of which I am particularly fond. I had two but alas one has seemingly skipped town...I am not all that fond of paper but styrofoam is particularly heinous. I always have a go cup of some sort in my car which I empty out weekly because somehow that is where all my go cups...well, go...I actually just found a complete gocup from Mickey D's that proclaims it can be refilled for $.49; guess I'll be giving that a test run! I wonder what decade it hales from....

I have a fine bone china mug that is very large. I get very upset if anyone else uses it. I keep that at home. I have another that I take with me whereever I go. It has the meaning of my name on it. I find I can sometimes use it instead of a foam cup at meetings etc. Not many take aways will let you provide your own cup. I stopped drinking caffine around 3 years ago. Now use freash lemon juice in hot water, and sometimes a green tea based herbal beverage.

I see I'm not the only one possessive of the "special" mug... LOL!

LOL, it depends on the mood...sometimes it's my brick red huge mug, others it's a chinese santa and reindeer across the sky scene, and then sometimes, it's basic black beakers...

My favorite mug is a 20 oz. mug with Wile E. Coyote on it holding a sign that reads - - Will work for coffee!
Love it!

I have 2 favorite mugs - both with a tea theme. They come with tea filters and one has a lid - the lid shattered on the other one. But those are the only two cups I will use to drink tea.

I have a mug I bought for $.20 at goodwill. It was obviously a gift from some sort of club dinner or something. It was made from a real photograph of a group of elderly women I don't know.
