I had used feng shui to arrange my office and found that my best direction to face is NW. I was quite prosperous. I now have purchased a new desk and the only direction that the desk fits in is such that I face NE and my business is lagging slightly. How can I fix this with feng shui?

Make sure your back is not turned to the door and you don't have elements in your office that make people doubt your reputablitiy (i.e. a picture of a weasel or a shark, etc.)

i.e. a picture of a weasel
<img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> I don't think I've ever seen a picture of a weasel in anyone's office!

But I would be interested, though to see what the best arrangment for an office would be.

I've written a review of a book called Feng Shui in 5 Minutes. Here is what the author says about desk placement in an office:

Quote:
Dragon power in the office flows the same way as in your home. The most powerful place for your office desk lies diagonally across from the door, so you face the entrance. If your office has several doors, the best desk position offers the most commanding view of all entrances, while situated as far from all doors as possible. A desk placed in this position becomes a Dragon Desk, giving you added power and zing.
She goes on to say the weakest position for a desk is with your back to the door or doors, near the door.

What type of business are you in? The author has several suggestions for paintings depending on what you're into. For example, water views are great for banks and financial offices.

A rooster feather in your desk drawer is believed to give business a boost.

You may want to note where the prosperity point of Ba Gua is, and add "Celestial Cures" in this area.

Wind chimes, mirrors, live plants, fountains, etc. are all great Celestial Cures.

Sorry for getting to this thread late....

But everyone gave good suggestions. The tv station I work for moved to a brand spanking new location this past summer and I virtually set up the layout and how various offices should be arranged, etc.

In my office I have a door that leads to a deck that over looks Seattle Center (and the Space Needle) directly across the street. I set up my desk so that my back is against a wall and I can see who enters my office door from the right and my deck is to my left (when I am sitting at the desk). My view is of WATER (the Puget Sound) and MOUNTAINS. This set up has worked well for me since we moved in here in late July....

Make sure you have plants as well in the office and plenty of light (natural is best).....

I am stumped on this room, guys.

I know this is an old thread - but what about a "corner computer desk" in a room (desk in the N corner of room)back to 2 doors!!

The room has two doors - one on the East wall and one on the
SW wall.

This friend of mine has a very small home - and uses this room for a dining room, home office and studio. It can be painted any color, but at present, two walls are red and two are cream color. The desk, computer and accessories are black, the cieling fan is white and there is lots of clutter...really don't know where to go with this one.
(Oh - and when seated at the computer, the person is in a corner between two windows with their back to two opposing doors on two opposite walls. Aaack!)

Their prosperity area is on the back porch and they are in desparate financial straits. I really want to help them with this, but I am stumped.
The computer has to stay in this room.
(It is in the 'Helpful People' area....if facing N in this room, the computer is in the N corner the 1st door enters directly into the career area which is their living room.)
This home office is where they run their home buiness.

What can I do to halp my pals?

Keep Feng Shui-ing!! <img src="/images/graemlins/rolling.gif" alt="" />

Fengshui is not only concern about how to choose a right direction to put furniture, but also include a lot of particular articles which have the magic power to protect you or let you getting promotion.
