Hi,

Personally, I take a sublingual, homeopathic form of calcium and calcium carbonate in pill form that I take in the evening before I go to bed.

I've just started taking coral calcium as an experiment to see if it works or not. I'm due for a bone density test in a couple of months as I was told that I was borderline ostoporotic about a year ago.

I'll let you know if there was any improvement at that time.

With all the hype about Coral Calcium (my husband, who hates to take any pills but does for his own sake came home and told me about someone who's had wonderful results) I can't resist trying it out for a while to see what the effects are.

I'll be reporting back soon.

Me again....

My husband and I have been taking Coral Calcium for about 3 months and we have both felt that it's working. I don't have the wrist and weak/sore hand problem for over a month and I seem to be feeling very well in all aspects of bodily function.

My husband swears by the supplements (I wonder how much more the sachets made into a tea would do in comparison?) and we will continue to take them. I haven't made an appointment for the next bone density test. Procrastination....

My friend and neighbor has just started taking Coral Calcium to see if it will help her tendinitis and possible carpal tunnel syndrome before she goes to a doctor to see what he can do. She's having trouble typing and using the mouse in her job where she has no option but to continue despite the intense pain.

I'll report back as to her condition.

Have any of you tried herbal supplements instead of Coral Calcium?

Hi Tammy.. I am Linda, the new Altmed host. My brother suffers from a calcium deficiency and so did my mother. In fact, my brother who is also downs syndrome was having seizures due to his inablility to "bind" calcium into his system. He is on a special medication that does just that. He also takes calcium with magnesium. The only problem I can see that may be related to coral calcium is the same issue related to oyster-shell , dolomite, and bone meal.. the possibility of high lead content. Calcium which is bound to citrate is probably the best. Magnesium is equally as important as calcium so you should make sure to take both together. Soy in its natural form is also high in calcium, although many of the soy drinks available are so diluted or have so many additives they are not considered to be a good choice. Of course, the best course of action is to take a walk in the sunshine everyday for the vitamin D content, and to consume as many natural calcium rich foods as possible.
