your thoughts?

Is it because of jelously or ignorance? Is it because America is the only superpower in the world or is it because it is seen as a policeman in the world?

lets try to list some possible explanations

- maybe there is just a muslim crusade against Christians?

Good luck finding friends anywhere, then!

In my family, I have relatives both in the U.S. and in Germany. Ever since Germany refused to support the U.S. war in Iraq, there has been a total break-up of my family between the Atlantic Ocean.

Bob, Carl,

if all of the above that means that at least Americans can improve their perception of the world - and then less people will hate us.

Arrogance. Capitalistic imperialism where we promise that doing things our way will make them lots of money - and it doesn't (it just makes us money). Arrogance. Arrogance, and more arrogance.

Eric, there are differences of opinion on Iraq in my family, but all are on speaking terms with each other. We cant afford otherwise.

My parents & I were born in USA. Through my late grandparents who immigrated to USA in early 1900's, I have these traditions:
Cultures: German, Austrian, Albanian*, Ukrainian, Kazakh
Religions: Judaism, Ukrainian Orthodox Christianity, Islam

Coleen,

welcome to the forum!

there is of course a lot of truth in what you are saying. I thank that some American politicians and journalists can be blamed for arrogance, I remember hearing that... America is the only superpower so.. we are the best in everything and we do not need to learn anything from the world, the world needs to learn from us - similar statement was on one of Sean Hannity radio show.

The American public is not really arrogant but it may be ignorant about the world because mass media donot focus on international affairs but just internal gossips and scandals.
