Jaga,
In response your your request.. It is also sad that here in America our children have lost the ability to speak, read, or write in Polish.. I thought of doing what you suggested, but after me, there is no one left to read the words to these beautiful songs.. When I go, they go with me.
My daughter still remembers parts of the language, from her Grand parents. But she cannot speak it.. I taught my youngest Grand Daughter a few songs in Polish, and German.. But she just responds to the sound of the words. She does not know the meanings.
My wife still remembers some of the songs.. A lot of times she would ask me to sing a special song, and she would join in. Even I sometime have to refer to a Polish Dictionary to remember the proper spelling
Jaga I feel very happy today.. I will sing you my favorite song... PRINT IT OUT FOR YOURSELF
Glemboka Studzienka
Glemboka studzienks,glemboka skopana
A przynie Kasienka, Jakby malowana
Stala przy studzience, wodi nabierala
O swoim kohanku, Jasienku myslawa
Zebym cie Jasienku, w wodzie zobaczyla
Tobym do studzienski, za toba skoczyla
Naprzod bym rzucila, Ten bialy wia neczek
Com se go uwila, ze samych rozeczek
Gloka studzienko, czy nam do cie szkoczyc
Tesknie za Jasienkiem, Zycie sobie skrocic
Nie skocza do ciebie, studzienko gleboka
Zadaleko do dna, I zimna ta woda
Ucaluje listek szeroki debowy, razem zpozzdrowienem
Wrzuce, go do wody.
Zanies go studziensko, do Jasienko mego
Powiedz mu odemnie, ze czekam na mego
Jaga,, If you can make use of these songs.. I can go on forever
,,as long as my eyes hold out :music:
