Hi Karl,

Thank You for the information about the mushrooms. When we make the golabki w/mushrooms we use a combination of pieczarki and prawdziwieki. I prefer mushroom golabki but my husband prefers the traditional with meat..pork and beef combination. I make golabki often at least once a month.

I have never had herring the way your Mother makes it, I will have to try it. We always have marinated herring at home, my husband likes it as an appetizer.

You are very fortunate to be studying in France.
What is your major?

I still have family that lives in Poland, my Mother writes to them but unfortunately I don't know how. I can read Polish but when I try to write something I usually get mixed up. Your English is excellant, I wish I could write in Polish as you do in English.

Hello and thanks.
Now I wish my French was just as good.
My major is information systems but this is not where my interests end. I'm keen on all kinds of so-called 'humanities', including things like philosophy and sociology.

I was looking for some info on how Poland and Poles are perceived abroad and this is how I got here.

Karol, while you are in Alsace, make sure you see Colmar. It's a very beautiful little town just about 70 km from Strassbourg, on A36 autoroute(so it takes about 40 minutes to get there). (Or have you been there already?)

Here are some of my photos of that place:

And here's the town's web site:

Hi Ajarmoniuk,

Well, I've been to Colmar already and I know I'll heve to go there again in spring when the weather is better for taking pictures.

Your pics are very nice, I hope I'll manage to take some which are as good as yours.

If you want to read some of my personal descriptions of Strasbourg and my life here, go to my website, www.kpalion.piwko.pl
Everyone's invited.
