I just decided to highlight my hair (light blonde)...it turned out bad. Not like anything I would have expected. I'm wondering, is there anything I can do to make this better? I'm considering dying my hair brown, or dirty blonde (my orginal color) to hide it, but I'm not sure if that's the only way I can go about this. Any suggestions?

Sometimes when a client comes in with a bad Highlighting job, I can see what color I need to add to help it. Sometimes it's just tiny light highlights and some lowlights (original color)

However, if it is really bad and off color, usually the best thing to do is to cover it with her natural color, condition and start again.

Would it be possible for me to use a non-permant colour, or would it not work because my hair is too blonde is some spots?

Yes. A semi-permanent color would be you best choice. I would be careful not to choose too dark a color. Better to have to do it again than to have your hair 'grab' the color and turn too dark.
