Indulge yourself the next time you have laundry to do. Put on some music; pour yourself a favorite beverage. And spend some time reconnecting with a friend over the phone, tending to your garden, watching a movie or curling up in a favorite chair to read a book during the time your washer and dryer are hard at work.

Wow, I definitely never thought of laundry like that! I always end up doing laundry when I'm already super busy and it just adds to the headache. I am going to try that - using my "laundry time" as an excuse not to do anything else around the house

I usually take my laundry time to cross stitch. One day I do all my other cleaning and then my other day off, I cross stitch and do my laundry. It's my excuse to stop and do nothing else that I don't enjoy.

Right on! We women are so good at multi-tasking that we forget to relax. Consider laundry time as YOUR TIME...you are still 'accomplishing something', so you don't have to feel 'lazy' for doing something soothing and enjoyable while it's going on.

I don't let myself feel lazy because sometimes I just need a day off and the housework will keep, unfortunately Wish I knew how to get rid of it without having to be the one to do it.

Doing your laundry by hand is also an interesting way to spend your time.
Also a good work out.

I am going to be moving into my RV, so handwashing will be something I'll be doing a lot more of, plus some coin-op time.
Do you use woolite?

Get a veggie brush - not too stiff. You can simply use a bar of Ivory.
First wet the piece of clothing you want to wash. Rub the ivory soap on it especially under the arms, crotch, etc. Scrub it a bit with the veggie brush. Soak the clothing in water a bit. Then rinse, rinse, rinse and then rinse a few more times Wring it out & hang it up.
Did this for an entire year when I lived in Africa. Got really good at it

huh, good suggestion, Jeanne. I could use your Just Plain Soap instead of Ivory, right?
I have heard of RVers who put their laundry in a plastic container and let it slosh around with detergent while they drive.
Africa must have been one awesome adventure. I am looking forward to mine.

Yup! You could use any of my soaps You can also use the Just Plain Soap and many of my soaps to wash your hair with. I need to make a little icon to add to my site so people know which soaps they can use as shampoo bars...
