That sounds like a simplistic, uninformed and self-defeating foreign policy. If the USA had heeded it in any of the two world wars half of Europe would have ended up as lampshades on a German coffee table....and considering the hatred Europe has for the USA I'm not entirely convinced that interceeding in those wars was to America's benefit.

One thing for sure, if Hitler won the Arabs would have had Palestine. Gee, so sorry for your loss.

ouffffff

America seems to want to start world war three perhaps it would have been in europes best intrests not to have migrated there. Then for sure half of america would have been some lampshade on some indians table? America only joined in the last two wars when it was a) forced to b) knew it could win. American casulties are small in both wars compared to the british and french (and germans) and miniscule compared to the Russians.

Mata Hari, are you one of those funny people who believe that USA won the WWII? <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> USA stripped Europe do bones after the war and it was really after the war when USA started to form a considerable country from a big-village one ...

Europe and the whole world would be under Germany if it wasn't for Russia (then USSR). USA's enterfered with only one thought: not to let Russia occupy the battled through with blood lands. Anything USA did in WWII was with one thought only in mind: get richer, gain resorces (both physical and intellectual, for the lack of the later) and make everyone else (especially Britain, France and Russia miserable). After the war USSR refused to become USA dependent and closed the iron curtain and started to rebuild themselves like they could. Britain and France prefered to kiss USA butt to become slaves but live a good life. So don't you tell me about the good USA intentions at any war. USA only seeks for benefit.

You are keeding aren't you? USA became richer than God after the war. If it wasn't for war USA would go on being a primitive country with the world center remaining in Britain. You think that USA saved Europe from bad ol'Hitler? Read a book (not american of course ...).

AINTD....I am soo disappointed in these posts.
I thought you were a fairly intelligent poster,
but you do not have a clue when it comes to
world wide policy or history. The words you wrote
were like spitting in my/our faces. This is the
thanks we get for giving America lives to return freedom to Europe? Not only did you not give credit where it was due,but you insulted the whole nation.....the things you said were wrong,
and I can only hope you do not still feel that
way. Yeah,we won the war, that's why you don't have to speak german. Then we spent our tax payers dollars to rebuild Europe, now we get all
this history revisionist bs.

I think a lot of it is to do with American overreaction. For example when the Union Pacific was being built 7 workers were killed by the Sioux trobe for making the line through their land. Retaliating the Yankeee army practically wiped out the entire tribe.
9/11cost the lives of 3,000 civilians. In Iraq, bombing based on [censored] intelligence by American forces, cost the lives of 6000 civilians in 50 bombing raids, all incorrect and not leading to the death of even 1 Iraqi general.
Now in Fallujah, in retaliation to the 4 terrible murders 450 Iraqis have been killed.
And in Israel since 1990, 975 Israelis have died and 2,000 palestinians have died.

This war on war (sorry, I mean terror) gets larger and larger the more attacks the west make on islamic areas.
You ever think that Osama wanted to increase his recruiting power? Maybe he knew that Georgie Bush was gonna invade Iraq (what with the close ties between the families, you can be sure he knew what kind of person he was) and he's jsut playing him to get recruits to give himself more power and get the holy war he wants.
First off you need an Agnostic or Atheist in the White House who wont play up to that [censored] and secondly America and Britain need to stop "pacifying" places.

Also I think pointing out other cultures problems and morals is not an excuse for poor political descisions, stop instantly relaying the [censored] you get from american propaganda on T.V and start actually thinking that you might be wrong. (and watch some decent T.V, seriously ammerican T.V sucks, really bad, so bad that i'm carrying on this far, it's really fuking bad, just stop watching it o.k?).

Oh btw the Second World War.
Don't think of Americans as good ol buddies of the English and French. The U.S.A lent money to both sides during the war and i'm talking about huge amounts.
And guess who borrowed the most? You guessed it, the allies Britain mainly, and the debt was only finally paid off in the 90's.
The U.S.A intervened to collect the debt from the more debt ridden side.

One of the main reasons the America is so wealthy at present is because of that war.

Also they kept the war off their continent. The Europeans have been savaging their poor continent for MILENNIA. Fertilizing their soil with each others' blood.
The US really wanted to stay out of the second Europeean war after losing so much on the first, you see?? They were tired of Europe's infighting.

After watching country after country fall or surrender *cough* France *cough*, and having England ASK for help, not to mention the sneak attack by the fascist Japanese Empire, the US joined. Should they be blasted for coming out of it with some fine income and Excellent German technology?

Don't forget about the THOUSANDS of American soldiers buried in Europe, helping to clean up Europes' messes.

ALl I have to say is that the USA is not perfect. But I am thankful everyday that I live in the USA.That I don't have to hide behind a burka, that I am free to pursue education & dreams & desires without fear of behing put to death, that I can make my own choices without fear,I can choose my religion or I can have no religion at all.
I feel sorry for women who live in countries that keep them from being able to pursue their life & desires.Countries that make sure the only place for a woman is as a basic slave to her husband.
I am proud to be a American and I realize we make mistakes as all countries do.But NONE of the mistakes we make justify the acts of cowardly terrorist.
I'll take the USA anyday!
