I'm 34. Think I can get away with them? Now I have to paint my toes...

This summer, I'm doing those flip flops with the flowers and/or butterflies on them. I'm also doing ponchos, because up here in Northern Ohio, you never know when the weather will turn.

I'm definitely "large and in charge" My husband says that no matter how big I get I still think I look good. I thanked him for noticing! I think there is no age limit on flip flops or much of anything else...well, butt length hair unless you are Cher!
I like Catherine's, which is an upscale Lane Bryant. But(and yes, it IS a big Butt) as I am petite it gets expensive so I generally buy at 50% or more off for next year. Frankly if I was one of those women who put off buying new clothes until I lost weight ; I'd just end up --well, naked!

Roni I hear you on the expensive bit...except Im a tall..with a 35" inseam. I too would probably end up naked...or dressed in goodwill curtains...however desperate I became first.

By the way, I love your quote and if you don't mind I plan upon using it in the future =]

All of us "normal" women are "large and in charge". By normal I mean average and in America, if I am remembering correctly, that is a 12-14. "Thin may be in but fat is where it is at! " Listen in a society where a super model is fired for "ballooning up to a four"( that would be that scrawny Moss woman who lived with Johnny Depp) it is time for some portion of this society to come to it's senses.
Where do these come from? I've no clue. I just rummage around in my head and there they are....

Roni and Wendy, I like "large and in charge". It makes you think of real, self assured women who are normal! I don't think of normal, however, as being an average 12-14. I think that might have been true 10 or 20 years ago, but I think 16 or Plus is more average today.

Our daughter is a long drink of water like you, Wendy, with your 35" inseam. It was hard to find affordable pants for her when she was growing up. It is really hardnow, to find clothes, esp. pants that are not "high-waters" when you are that tall. Do you think that is why crop pants are showing up everywhere? I think they are very unattractive for women who are "Rubenesque" or full figured. (Maybe I just don't have enough tan on my legs!) LOL Like that might really help!

I am 5' 3" and I wear crop pants. I am a 1X on the bottom and a 2/3X on the top. They look adorable on me....Do what you want . If someone does not like it then they can look at someone else....
BTW: I NEVER tan. People think I am a vampire...sun, cigs, and alcohol all make one Look worn out and pulled down with care wayyyy before it is time....Did I mention I also get melasma(pregnancy mask) whenever I get in the sun? There you are; the good reason and the real reason I stay OUT of sunlight and wear sunscreen Every day.

Roni, I was talking to Wendy, a TALL person (35" inseam), when I was referring to "high water" or crop pants. Of course they look cute (or cuter) on shorter people but I have yet to see them look good on tall people, like my daughter, Wendy or me.

In the past, we have had long talks on these forums about how to stay young looking and how media influences women, We ALL agreed that sun and smoking are bad for you. My tan would have to be, as I mentioned a few times in the past, an airbrushed tan, like Kelly Ripa has, or a tan from a bottle! I ALWAYS wear sunscreen, too!

I just forget sometimes that there are Newbies who might not understand where the chats have been or get some of the inside jokes. Sorry. It wasn't too long ago that I was a Newbie, too!

BTW: My best friend is also short, 1X on the bottom and LG on top and she wears crop pants all the time, and looks adorable, too!
