The garage is a part slightly outside yourself. Are you struggling with revealing a part of yourself that you're not so sure you should? Or possibly it's a part of yourself that you only want to reveal to certain people; i.e., they're getting out but you're scooping them right back in.
The restaurant has similar symbolism to a store or shop - it can symbolize a variety of opportunities that are available to you. Sounds like it was a pleasant experience! To me, Larry may be this same part of yourself that's sneaking out of the garage, but he's a bit more comfortable here. The waiter may be someone who is there and ready to support you, or to help you find these opportunities. Larry - or this part of yourself - is pretty pleased with this situation and willing to "stick his neck out" a bit if there's some stroking involved.
