I had a Norweigan Elkhound as a child, and loved her dearly. We called her "Elke". We had a Samoyed, as well. I'd have to say that my favorite breed, however, is the Boston Terrier.

I love dogs especially sheepdogs.A few years ago we lost our Belgian sheepdog, he was so lovely. After him I did't want another dog,but then I saw Max our Border/Bearded Collie. He's such a devoted, adorable dog.I'glad I changed my mind.

Corgis Rule! Not too big, very intelligent, laugh all the time, great companions. I was interested in the comments about Border Collies. My sister has a male and female pair about 3 years old. The female is crazy. One of her favorite pastimes is to lie on her side and "dig" underneath the couch. They are sweet, but too neurotic.

I am partial to Cocker Spaniels! They are just so sweet and loveable. We have had 3 litters with our two cockers over the years and it has been such a wonderful experience.
I was recently given an 8 week old Chihuahua for Mother's Day and I am totally in love with her!! I never thought I was a "little" dog person, but she is just the sweetest baby! Such a cuddly, kissy little thing! I've been so impressed with her--she's been the best puppy! She even sleeps 5-6 hours at night in her crate without hardly a peep. The Chihuahua is definitely a new favorite!

My very favorite breed is the dachshund (weiner dogs) and I prefer the standard to the mini but they are much harder to find nowadays.
I also really like basset hounds.
