would i be able to put a wireless pc card into a pci adapter that isnt from the same company? and the wireless hub is from another company. for example my hub's made by belkin my pci adapter is made by linksys and im thinking of getting a pc card made by intel would this work?

yes you can...makes no difference who makes them as long as they are compatible like they are all 802.11b or 802.11g and so on

I agree there is a standard for all companies to make there products compatiable for networking.

IEEE LAN(local area network)(institute of electrical and electronics engineers)are standards that they all follow.

as for the version of 802.11 version you have we'll have to know which one you have but most are backwards compatiable.As I agree with last post confirm with sales man and buy same type.

Anyways it should work...
