Which console is winning

Well, this is quite a tricky question...PS2 has sold the most, GameCube has a brilliant 'arcadey' feel to it and Xbox is the most powerful console of the three.

I voted for PS2 because it has the best games, FFX, PES3, Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid 2 are all unbelievable games. And when MGS3 and GT4 come out it will be even better.

Winning as far as what? Sales?

In this month's EGM, Gamecube was voted as having a very bad year:

"(p.80)Despite a rally in sales, Nintendo's troubled console lags in the No.3 spot behind Xbox and is seeing less and less support from third-party publishers."

So as far as sales, Gamecube sucks and PS2 is still number 1. But to give gamecube some credit, they are staying afloat due to the GBA. But once the PSP comes out, who knows what doom will come to Nintendo...

Ps2 is far ahead on both of his rivals and is winner for sure

Xbox will try n win the second round by creating the Xbox 2 or whatever it'll be called BEFORE Ps3 will be released thus before 2005

Comon u Guys only Like PS2 becuz its the most Popular The gamecube is the best the only reason y 10 people outa 30 hav da gamecube and not the PS2 is becuz PS2 is more popular and Gamecube is made by Nintendo. Gamecube still has some Good Games XBOX is very Simular to the PS2 apart from the PS2 maybe having a few games on i not for XBOX and the XBOX having a few games that arnt on da PS2 i voted for the gamecube! But hey whateva turns u on.

There is a hefty load of reasons why PS2 is the most popular console (in this thread's poll and in the world market).

When I decided which console to buy, I know for sure that I didn't base my decision on which one is "more popular" or anything like that. It was purely a practical and economical choice to choose the PS2. GC and Xbox only had a few games which interested me and buying a console just for a few games doesn't compare to buying a PS2 for an entire lineup of games that I wanted.

Also, going back to my quote about GC getting less and less support from third party publishers, that is also why economically, the PS2 was a better buy. You can clearly see that GC is waning in sales and in the number of games available, and that is a scary thing if you own a GC, bc within a few years, who knows if the GC will become obsolete or not.

Well, I really doubt the GC will become obsolete in just a few years, but it still is a slight possibility. For Playstation consoles though, there is not a possibility in sight of the Playstation name ever becoming obsolete.

I guess I'm just a little paranoid since I am the queen of owning consoles which have gone the way of the obsolete-TurboGraphix16, Atari Lynx, Sega Genesis, etc.

Well i guess it all depends on what games u like playing but getteb a console jus cuz everyone else has got it is stooopid.

Yes, that is stupid, and I hope you realize that nobody has said in this thread that they got a console just cuz everyone else has it. In my post I specifically discussed why I DID NOT buy a ps2 just because it's popular.

I guess im a little biased. i dont own gamecube. but i like rpg's the most, and i only noticed a couple of rpg's for xbox, while i have played a trillion on ps1 and ps2. but i would think id pick gamecube last only because ps2 and xbox both have the feature to play dvd's and cd's as well as disks. I think if you are into sports, and action games, xbox is your man, but if you are more into rpg's, ps2 is your best bet, but again i havent played gamecube yet, but nintendo does lead the league in cool [censored] games in general. ( in my opinion) they had all the original cool games ( zelda, mario bros., etc...) if you are into classic games maybe, and you miss them, i would go with gamecube. im thinking of actually buying gamecube jsut because i own literally every other console on the market ( besides sega saturn) i even have the old sega master system <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
