You know how in FFX there were like, 3 different quality levels of cutscenes? There was:

1- the best quality FMVs (like the love scene)
2- the CGs with okay quality (like the "prelude" cutscene in Zanarkand in the very begining of the game)
3-the regular CGs with the least quality.

Well, in FFX2, the quality of most of the CGs has increased noticably. Especially the level 2 CGs. I notice Yuna and others have a lot more facial expressions in those CGs. The 3rd level of CGs are still the same.

And suppossedly, they used more polygons in the FMVs, but I honestly didn't really notice.

Imo, the FMVs in FFX are still the best. Most of the FMVs are actual scenes, like where Yuna is just talking to another character. There aren't as many well choreographed and really dramatic scenes as there was in FFX (like "The Dance" scene, "The Spring" scene, etc). I personally didn't even find the 1000 words FMV to be that emotional.

But again, I'm not putting down FFX2. I enjoyed playing it and it is a quality game (except for the glitched up good ending). I am just spoiled from the many awesome FMVs in FFX. Ppl say I shouldn't complain bc FFX2 was just meant as a sequel to FFX and sequels usually have less quality. Still, I believe there are no rules that a sequel has to be worse in quality, and there are no rules that a FFX sequel has to have 42 less FMVs than it's predecessor. And that those FMVs have to have 50% less dramatic punch than those of its predecessor.

Anyway, I know most ppl cry when they see the 1000 words FMV, so maybe there's just something wrong with me. I just know that the feeling I get from watching that love scene in FFX doesn't even compare to even the most dramatic FMV in FFX2.

i guess we are really spoiled by ffx...... i really think that ffx graphic is a little better than ffx-2.... i don't know maybe there are just too many stuffs going on so quick in ffx-2 that i don't have time to look up its beauty.... but still... the opening scene of ffx-2 kinda sucks... (the us version)... the singing too weak and loud comparing with the music that i'm asking myself is the singer out of breath? there isn't many good dancing moves either... yuna just moving the leg a little bit and that's it, it just have no energy at all... i just feel like there's something missing....comparing that sing scenen with the bliztball opening scene from ffx.... ffx is way better....the part whic tidus sitting on the water looked so real you can see some drops of water on his face and hand..... and the water sphere and the player's movement... it was totally gorgeous.....moreover, i think it's a big mistake to put the sphere grid into the dresssphere.... the damn dressphere is tooo annoying we have to waste one turn to switch while for the sphere grid, you can just use whatever avaible....i want the sphere grid back.... and the active mode sucks.... i don't even have time to look at what's going on in the battle....even though i change the config to wait, somehow, it just keep being active... anyway the game is kinda fun... with all those missions and you get to control the airship right at the beginning.....(even though some missions such as the ballon one at luca are extremely dumb) somehow, i still think we shouldn't get control of the airship so quick.. first of all it break the ff rule... which you can get control of airship after most the missions are done... second.. if anyone who have never played ffx before would probably have no idea what's going on......

You're right. When I played FFX2 I had that "there's something missing" feeling too.

And the ds system is an interesting idea, but I wish they had an option to make the battles either ATB or CTB (like FFX). Because I seriously didn't have time to really look at and enjoy the different costumes, it was really hectic, even with the "wait" mode in ATB. I finished the game recently, and I can honestly say that I've hardly ever changed ds during battle. I still haven't even seen all the ds animations for most of the ds.
