You died that quickly? Hmm, I could've sworn it lasted at least a few rounds. I just know I only had to use two dark matters in the entire battle before Trema was dead. Maybe I got lucky.
I only mixed dark matters with holy waters. Maybe that might make a difference. I only heard from others that you can mix a dark matter with anything and it's the same thing. But I never actually tried to mix a dark matter with anything but a holy water. Maybe try that and see if it makes any difference.
Maybe you should haste your party or slow him (is that possible on him?). Also, throwing in one or two soul springs (takes off 999MP at least) helps too. This way he will still cast magic, but it will do no damage.
In my game, after one soul spring, Trema had no magic but he kept casting Demi over and over again for no reason. It was pretty cool. So even if I wasn't invincible, his magic wouldn't have done any damage to me.
So Auto life does work? Does it work just once? Like if you cast auto life on yourself then you die, would you have to cast it again?

Auto-Life only works Once and you have to cast it.
Once you use it, you'll have to cast it again.
And yes, I've have defeated him, The first time I did it without mixing, without the songstress Magic Null Dance, and without a soul spring, (I didn't know it would do that).
I knew that what was killing me was Ultima, so I watched for how much damage that was doing. When I finally knew, it was over 9,000. So the girl who was using cat nip, was of course doomed to die from this attack, however the other two I used the item that doubles max hp of party, (don't remember what it was) and then I kept them using X-potions to keep their hp above 9000. And he died soon after casting ultima. <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
Auto-Life of course is much easier! But at the time, I didn't know where to get it from.
And Trema is Immune to EVERYTHING!
I equipped a haste accessory to the one using cat nip.

If you use the Higher Power GG, that really helps. I can get Paine's HP to around 19000 with that thing.

Ok, some more random notes: The location of all Crimson Spheres:
If you find all 10 Crimson Spheres you'll be able to enter the Den of the Woe in Ch.5 (be warned - you must be able to withstand 5,000 hit to all 3 girls at once.)
Anwayz, to locations, Most of the Crimson Spheres you only get ONE chance to get the entire game.
I'll list them in game order.
Ch.1, After (or during-whichever you prefer) the foggy fiend mission on Mushroom Rock Road, return and follow the path down to the Den of the Woe, you will automatically pick up Crimson Sphere 9, which shows as Crimson Report 1 on Shinra's list.
Ch.2 Again, return to the Den of Woe, you will be given Crimson Sphere 7
Ch.2 Crimson Sphere 10 is in Logo's room, (Part of the story, I believe.)
Ch.3 Go to Guadosalam speak with a few people, when finished go to the "circle " bedroom. You'll find it hidden up top. Crimson Sphere 4, (I believe that this is the only one that you more that one shot to get.)
Ch.3, When Djose is a hotspot, GO TO BEVELLE, follow who you see underground, (you'll need to lower the lift again) and then after scenes, you'll need to pick up the sphere on the floor. Crimson Sphere 1
At the End of Ch. 3 Crimson Sphere 2 & 3 are given to you.
Ch. 4 after the concert go to the engine room and LeBlanc will give you Crimson Sphere 5. You will be told she is there if you didnt skip the scenes, (Do not speak to Shinra until you have it.)
In Ch. 5 Crimson Sphere 6 is in Bevelle on Floor 1. Crimson Sphere 8 is on Floor 20.
I do not recommend going past here for now, you can make it to 40 with no problems, but until your much, much stronger you won't stand a chance any further. And you Can exit the dungeon, but you'll have to start over on your current floor. Avoid red dragons, by waiting on them to step back into the wall, or by stepping over them. I know there is one floor where the Red Dragon will be sitting in the middle of the room and it doesnt look like you can jump over him. Head back to the start of the floor, on the left youll find a raised stone, step on it, and youll get two stepping stones to jump over it. (Jump carefully!)

[/qb] if you don't know where the circle room is, it's in the place where the girls have get the stolen sphere and where you fought Leblanc and the gang in Ch.2

Pay Off O'aka's debt BEFORE CH3, then buy hi-potions from him and sell to Barkeep. Repeat, until you've made all of the Gil you want.
He will leave the ship at start of 3, so you have to do this in ch1 or 2.
