We were taught manners at every opportunity....eating dinner at the table as a family, going out to restaurants, going to visit relatives. It was not easy work and it's part of why I opted out. Your write up is full of excuses for not doing the job properly.
As far as the manners, you're one of the lucky ones whose parents used every opportunity to teach you.
Also, I'm not making up excuses really, I think it's a disgrace. I guess the point of my post was that often (not always) when people are overwhelmed important tasks (like teaching kids how to behave)are overlooked. I'm only stating what I have seen. You do not have to agree with me.
