I would definitely get an ISBN number for any book I wrote, so that I could have a print copy as well. With so many self publishers out there it's in essence free to do, and you get a cut of every book sold.

You can make a PDF file out of pretty much any document creation software - PageMaker, Word, you name it. So make the document like you would any other book. Work on it seriously for several weeks to months. Spell check it 8 times. Then give it to friends and have them spell check it. You'd be surprised at how many typos you miss.

The book won't sell well if it's not professional. So it is *key* to put a lot of effort into the book's creation and finishing.
