I love this question; I, too, get asked this a lot by non-quilters. I think I can honestly say 'yes' to every one of your reasons to quilt. Mostly, it does take me away to a place free from the everyday stresses and worries where I can channel my creative desires into something that, hopefully, will be around for the next hundred years. The bonus that comes from being in that place is I now have a legacy to leave behind that will allow future generations to know a part of me.
