I know a few people who have taught English overseas. I really don't know enough about it to recommend a specific company. Based on everything I've heard, the most important thing that determines whether you have a good experience and whether you're paid a good wage is the school you go with.
My understanding is that there is a huge difference (in terms of working conditions) in the different schools you could work with overseas. So it's really crucial to do what you're doing here; that is network to find people who have worked overseas and get recomendations regarding which companies are the best to work for and which ones are best avoided.
