Sorry to hear this Becky - my mother is going through a really bad time at the moment also due to Vitamin D deficiency. She has osteoporosis, and has had calcium boosts for many years, but the doctors now realised that the amount of Vitamin D included in the supplements is not enough (as Rosie mentioned). My mother spent 40 years in an office, and then listened to the scaremongering of cancer councils and avoided the sun or covered up for the tiny amount of time she happened to be outdoors. The result is that her bones micro-fracture doing even basic tasks like shifting a chair and bending over too quickly.
